Nintendo "disappointed" with its E3 performance
"Nintendo of America sales and marketing boss Cammie Dunaway has revealed that the company was disappointed with its showing at this year's E3 Media and Business Summit, which drew criticism from some sections of the gaming community, notably core gamers.
"I would say the message is we were disappointed with our performance at E3," Dunaway told VGChartz. "There were titles like Wario which we think will be really fun titles that we should have showcased.

Region Free Mod Coming To The Nintendo Wii
"A lot of people are annoyed that the Wii is not a region-free system. They’re quick to point out that the PS3 is 100% region-free and most of Xbox 360 games (about 50-70%) are too.
A few people in the DCEmu community feel the same way and are working on a mod chip-free hack. It’s called the Homebrew channel, it will allow region-free gaming and channels. It’s also said that it will let you skip the nagging health warnings. Its not out yet, but they posted a video of what they have so far.

Rock Band 2 Will Arrive To The PS3 A Month After The 360 Release
"We already know that Rock Band 2 is going to make its debut on the Xbox 360 before any other console. However, we’ve gotten no word on just how long we’ll have to wait before it is released on the PS3 and Wii. However, thanks to a few snapshots from a retailer, we may have a better idea.
According to the screens, we can expect the Xbox 360 version to hit stores on September 14th. The PS3 owners will have to wait just over a month for their October 19th release, while Wii owners won’t see i..."

Wii Music is Miyamoto's last idea?
"It could be the end of the road for new ideas on Wii: Nintendo President Satoru Iwata (pictured) has admitted that Wii Music is Shigeru Miyamoto’s last idea for the console.

He added that WiiMotion Plus “didn’t cost much to make” – and said that it would be “very affordable” for the consumer.

Nintendo needs to improve their online play
"The standard has been set. If any videogame system wishes to survive, handheld or console, it must have online compatibility. Arguably one of the most important features of the current generation of videogames, online compatibility has transformed the way people think of “multi-player” games. Pioneered by modems and near-perfected by the internet, playing online has taken the videogame community by storm and isn’t looking back. WiiWare's "Beer Pong" undergoes major changes
"Last month community groups in Virginia voiced their concern over the 'T for Teen' rating Frat Party Games: Beer Pong had received. The complaint was that a game based on the use of alcohol should not be rated for minors under the legal drinking age. At the time, Beer Pong creator JVC Games dismissed the concerns, describing the situation as "kind of funny."
But it looks like the community groups won this battle. With no fanfare, JVC has quietly changed the name of the game from Frat Party..."

Despite Wii Update - Homebrew Lives On
"Earlier this week, Nintendo released firmware version 3.3 for the Wii in the hopes of deterring some of the homebrew work being done for the console. The update nixed the commonly-used "Twilight Hack," which made use of a modified save file to launch homebrew applications. It didn't take long for the community to respond, though, as a fix has been released which counters Nintendo's efforts."

New Wii Menu Update kills Homebrew
"he latest update, which rolls the Wii Menu to 3.3, not only kills the Twilight Hack, but also allows you to move a Mii from the Mii Plaza into the Mii Parade directly, thanks to the addition of a handy new icon. You just drag and drop as you normally would.
But, let's get back to the real news here. Nintendo has finally gone ahead and sunk the U.S.S. Homebrew. We're anxious to see how the community is going to take this one."

Nintendo: only geeks and otaku suffer storage problems
"As is always the case with Nintendo’s press events nowadays, the dirty word ‘casual’ was raised at its WiiWare preview, only to be dismissed in favor of a distinction between gamers and non-gamers. PS3 & Xbox 360 Gamers Buy More Games Than Wii Gamers
"Washington (dbTechno) - According to figures released by The NPD Group, Nintendo managed to sell more Wii consoles than the PS3 and Xbox 360 combined in the month of March. This is all well and good, but the numbers also show that Xbox 360 and PS3 owners are buying more games, despite huge sales of releases such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii.

Epic Games won't ever make a game for the Wii: "we go forward, not back"
"Epic Games’ president, Mike Capps, reiterated what Epic has previously said in an interview with IGN, stating that Epic won’t ever be developing games for the Wii. It’s not about the success of the platform to him, but what can be done on it. When asked whether there would ever be a time when Epic would be forced to give in and create a game for the Wii, Capps said, “no, we go forward, not back. It makes more sense for us to invest in the next-generation tech.”

Which Console Will Win This Generation? An IGN Poll
If there's one thing that can be said, it's that most polls are biased. You always seem to find sites such as PSPfanboy doing a poll where you can be sure that the readers have already got their mind set as to which console they prefer. However when the poll comes from a general Gaming site, where people from all walks of life gather... one thing can be said... the only bias in this is that it's a Poll for gamers.
Well, IGN conducted a survey of this sort, and it seems that amongst Gamers,...

Wii shortage nearing its end?
"With a weak dollar, foreign companies that sell their goods in the U.S. for dollars and then convert those dollars to their native currencies get a smaller profit than if they sell their products in countries with strong currencies of their own (such as Europe with the euro). EA Sales Report: PS3 to have a better year then Xbox 360
"That will, according to the estimates, be particularly true in Europe, where EA expects the PlayStation 3 to sell between 5 and 6 million units across the year, compared to just 1.5-2.5 million for the Xbox 360.
That means that while the company thinks the two will tie in North America on 4.5 to 5.5 million unit sales, the two sets of numbers combined give Sony's flagship console a compelling 3.5 million lead.
