Mike Deneen from GoozerNation has always been reluctant of exercise video games. However, he is getting older, and much wider. Could a newfound need to get healthy have a change of heart on this gamer?

"The Wii’s days are numbered. That is an undeniable fact. But the exact number left has yet to be determined.

We will know more this June when Nintendo holds its long-awaited E3 press conference. While the conference will mostly be used to hype the Wii 2, the original Wii is not likely to be ignored.

But if new games are indeed about to be announced, what can we expect?"

"No, not quite as saucy as we first thought. This isn’t a silicon skin to turn your Wii-Remote and Nunchuk into a phallus and vagina set but more of a cover for your Wii-fit Balance Board. Crab paste anyone?"

Nintendo today revealed a new hardware sales milestone for the Nintendo Wii in the U.S. in addition to unveiling the top 10 best-selling first and third party games on the system so far.

Maggie Modjeski always used to tell her kids that video games were no good for them. That was until she received a gift, a gift that turned out to be Wii Fit. Since then, she's enjoyed watching her kids being active and having fun, changing her view of video games. Although she still says there's such a thing as too much, in moderation it's now okay by her.

We've all heard stories about Wii-related injuries and peple causing damage to their houses via overenthusiastic Wii-ing.

Well, the New England Medical Journal has reported of a girl who recently broke her foot from falling off her Wii Balance Board. They also mentioned other common Wii-related injuries include

Roberts said she was too embarassed to visit a gym, go out jogging or even have sex with her husband, but after buying a Wii Fit and changing her dietary habits, she went from 252 to 140 pounds in a year. "As far as I'm concerned the Wii Fit saved my life," Roberts said.

She is set to appear on the BBC 3 documentary 'I'm Hotter Than My Daughter' next month.

"Recently, there’s been a lot of press about SEGA and EA’s disappointment with the sales of 'adult' Wii games, such as Mad World and Dead Space: Extraction. While games like Wii Sports Resort seem to sell by the truckload, many 'mature-themed' titles struggle to break even.

Unfortunately this has lead to various games journalists and their readers making a very dubious leap of logic. In short, they're claiming that Nintendo is just for kids. According to certain elements of the gaming commu..."

Outside of the occasional mini-game compilation and first-party titles, Wii has struggled greatly in North America to establish any sort of strong sales figures for third-party games that measure up to the console's install base. Hardcore and casual third-party exclusive titles for the Wii fall very flat in comparison to the PLAYSTA..."

It's fair to say most gamers have bashed Wii Music, most not even considering it a game at all, just some shovel ware Nintendo wants to sell to idiotic casual gamers. "With some games, ESRB ratings can be either too damning, or not restrictive enough. How many parents buy their children copies of games like Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV, regardless of the warnings on the box, pamphlets shoved into their hands by concerned Best Buy employees, or simple common sense? On the hand, there are plenty of other games that the ESRB just rates poorly. Mass Effect gets an M rating for fictional alien violence, but Call of Duty (which is based on actual military event..."

What could make exercise even more fun than the Wii Fit already seems to manage? Akihabara's Refresh Club in Japan thinks it knows the answer...

What's the answer you ask? Japanese girls dressed up in frilly and fun maid outfits of course! That's right, they're paying their employees to dress up just for you to share the Wii Fit fun.

30 minutes costs 2,600 yen, though I reckon people would be willing to pay more.

Wish your Wii Fit had maids included?

LotusCharts have posted up statistic for this week's software sales in Japan.

It's no surprise that Pokemon Platinum is still selling really high, though it did lose its number one spot. Super Robot Wars Z, a new show to the gaming world claimed top place. Disaster: Day of Crisis managed to scrap its way into the top ten. Most of the the top ten spots were games not too well known by the Western World, though Wii Fit managed to still stay at the top in eight place.

"Well! If Brain Age gets a naughty movie, then one would correctly assume that Wii Fit must get one as well. Japanese adult video maker Gekidan Carnival has just released Geki Fit, which features the tagline "Fitness Is Erotic!" Geki Fit features 115 minutes of young ladies in various stretching and yoga poses against an all-white background. While there are no Wii-motes, Wiis or Balance Boards, the movie does feature font and packaging "homages." (Gekidan Carnival probably doesn't want to get..."

Despite the Wii Fit still staying strong in the sales charts, it seems the majority of Wii Fit owners don't even play the game, with a massive 64% of owners saying that they completely stopped using it after purchase.

"Best Buy Co. Inc.'s online division on Mon. sold out of Nintendo Co.'s Wii Fit following a restock of the product on the same day.
Wii Fit has held a sold out status at most retailers due to high-demand for the fitness product.

The $89.99 SKU includes the Wii Balance Board, a scale-like device that allows owners to facilitate more than 40 yoga, muscle training, aerobics, and balance exercises."

"Videogames are known to improve hand-eye coordination but can they help someone quit smoking or lose weight?

Hot on the heels of Nintendo's smash success, 'Wii Fit', game makers are introducing new titles with a healthy focus, such as French game publisher Ubisoft's "Allen Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking" that hits on Nintendo DS in November.

Over 10 million smokers worldwide have turned to Allen Carr's Easyway books, clinics or DVD in order to stop smoking but now smokers wanting to qui..."

Online store Zavvi Direct Ltd, which went live June 4, has been accused of ripping off hundreds of customers, by pretending to be connected to Zavvi Entertainments (a firm which took over Virgin Megastores last year) and taking orders at £69.99 for copies of Wii Fit, then never delivering. Police are currently investigating the situation, and have thus far seized £50,000 from the company.

The online store currently has a note up with some contact information stating the following:

"The Nintendo Wii revolutionised gaming by introducing bodily movement in to the gaming experience. Not only did this bring about a more immersive and enjoyable gaming experience it also meant exercise and so it was obvious from the beginning that it wouldnt be long before games would be designed purely to get gamers off their sofas and start burning some calories. Wii Fit is one of these games."

According to a UK poll, one fifth of women who own the Wii Fit have gotten carried away while playing the game and ended up breaking objects in their houses. Since it's release, the Wii Fit has caused approx £20,000,000 worth of damage to UK homes.

This is very similar to the physical injuries people had recieved from playing the game article.

Remember Jo Garcia? Gamer geek/model extraordinaire? Well, she's now offering up some competition to the famed Wii Fit girl (that's gotta do your ego good), who is now at 3 million hits and counting. There are a couple of 'teaser' videos below pulled from Youtube of this, and a bunch more through the source. Apparently there's a umm..not so safe for work version around, but we'll leave that to other sources.

What do you think? Trying too hard?

There have been many a Wii Fit spoof, but this (depsite the poor production values) is a good 'un, crossing Nintendo's exer-gaming title with Sty Stallone boxing hero, Rocky Balboa.

"While one young lady is benefiting with fame following the viral 'Why every guy should buy their girlfriend Wii Fit' video, another is damning its very existence.

New York City resident and librarian Lauren Bernat (who happens to share her name with the Floridian YouTube star) feels that her future career path could be hindered because of the association with the name."

The May 2008 NPD numbers have been recently released, and by the looks of it, the numbers overall were below people's expectations, with hardware and software numbers decreasing since last month. Many thanks for sonycowboy at NeoGAF and the NPD Group for making the numbers available. The tracking period was a four week period, from May 4th to May 31st.

May only saw one major release: the ever-popular Wii Fit from Nintendo. The focus this month came on Grand Theft Auto IV, Mario Kart W...

Over a week ago, a guy uploaded a video onto Youtube that showed his girlfriend "being sexy" on the Wii Fit. Gaming sites speculated that it was an official Nintendo advertisement (albeit a viral one), despite not really looking like one.

But Nintendo were quick to debunk this rumor...

After tirelessly trying various methods to improve their ability to drum on Rock Band, GamingVerdict have finally stumbled on a flawless solution. With a little help from Wii Fit you'll find your drumming technique improved almost instantly!

Balance Board Blog's found a video on Youtube and it appears as though women exercising with Wii Fit in nothing but a bra and panties and voluntarily posting it on the Internet might be becoming a new fad.

Either these girls are really comfortable with their bodies and don't mind showing off what they've got or they're just trying to tease the guys out there who are still going through puberty. I honestly don't care either way; I'll still acknowledge a good looking girl when I see one, es...

"But none of these activities would be possible if it wasn’t because of the Wii Balance Board, which, in my opinion, is one of the best interactive peripherals ever invented. The Wii Balance Board is shaped like a household body scale and it uses four AA batteries as a power source, which can power the board for about 60 hours. The board is wireless and contains multiple pressure sensors that are used to measure the user’s center of balance, weight and body mass index. Like the Wii Remote befo..."

"Although there have been similar efforts before it, no exer-gaming title has been promoted so fiercely (or sold so well), so isn't it about time we stopped scrutinising Wii Fit so negatively and beginning appreciate it for what it is, and what Nintendo has dubbed it all along - the first step to a healthier lifestyle, an attempt to make exercise fun, and one of the most revolutionary inventions the videogaming industry has ever soon?

And to those 'hardcore' gamers who dubb the arival of Wi..."

It's fair to say that the release of Wii Fit has divided many a game journalist and fitness expert, and even a few weeks after its release, condemnation of the exer-gaming product is still filtering through the mainstream press - this time from the Washington Post, who damn the game's release.

"Today, Ohio's Lake Hospital System revealed that they have successfully used the Nintendo Wii to help patients recovering from strokes, surgeries and broken bones. Using Wii Fit and other Wii titles with skiing and bowling, patients are improving their cardiovascular fitness, aerobic strength and balance.

"The Wii complements traditional and functional therapies while engaging patients in their therapy in a fun and entertaining way," said Nancy Ditzel, a physical therapist at Lake Hospita..."

"If the reception to Wii Fit and the interest from many a third party developer were anything to go by, then the future of the Wii Balance Board looks like being a secure one, but should we really be getting overly giddy about what has been touted in many circles as a revolution in game control, or is the Balance Board limited to offering only a little more than is possible at any old videogaming arcade, a limited, gimmicky piece of kit?"

"Konami's Dance Dance Revolution and Nintendo's Wii Fit have often been referred to in the same breath, much due to both games having the knack of leaving their players collapsed in an exhausted, sweaty heap on the floor after an intense session of play (intentionally or neigh). One DDR producer explained the firm is considering the Balance Board for future versions of the game."

"If like many thousands of others in the US, you are still struggling to find a copy of Wii Fit on store shelves anywhere in your region, one analyst believes that it isn't because Nintendo couldn't ship enough to the country, but instead because they decided not to.

Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter reckons that a weak dollar and because Nintendo know that Americans will be just as fat a few months from now" when [it] will have more units available," means that it has nothing to worry about..."

You might remember DFC Intelligence: They asked if "could Sony go from first to worst" and now they are back with more input about the newest consoles. They believe that 2008 might be the best year ever for Nintendo and the Wii because the console is so innovative and Wii Fit will help out sales quite a bit, which will place Nintendo in a spot to sell the most consoles in a year. The firm also thinks the PS3 will overtake the 360 in 2009. DFC thinks this because they believe Microsoft didn't ...

Nintendo's marketing campaign for Wii Fit has been the biggest in the firm's history, with TV and print ads, as well as giant billboards and images of public transport nationwide. Could the next stage of the onslaught be moving online? There's suspicion of just that, with a video appearing on YouTube of a guy filming his girlfriend playing the game in her underwear.

"Think of the last game you beat. Think of the sense of accomplishment and the satisfaction you got from playing it. Think of the way the controller felt in your hands; think of the gameplay, the storyline, the graphics, the music and everything that made it fun...and remember this well.
Because that is how you'll be telling your grandchildren about the "good ol' days of video games." Good. Old. Days. The times when gaming was golden. Back when it was an altar boy, pure and true. The ..."

"Nintendo title nosedives from No.2 as it fails to dent this week’s full chart

Nintendo’s phenomenal-selling Wii Fit has had the worst week of its existence in the UK – dropping all the way out of the ChartTrack/ELSPA All Formats top 40.

The spectacular drop – likely due to stock issues at retail – has seen the game slide from second position last week, a drop of more than 38 positions.

The game registered 15th position in ChartTrack's Wii single-format chart."

"GR: Are these exercises accurate to yoga? Were they taught correctly?
Sally: The instructor is pretty good with the instructions. But it's weird keeping your foot on the Board the whole time - like with the Warrior pose [which only requires one foot at a time]. For breathing, it was fine though.
I could’ve used more direction. Tree pose could have been better. Warrior was kinda lame, but the half moon one was good.

GR: Wii Fit says your center of balance is towards the back right with m..."

"In Wii Fit use a balance board (plank movements that you register) for the game to play, a great innovative way of play where Nintendo is of course famous.

The balance board, however, also shows a limit. People who are heavier than 150 kilograms may not be placed on the balance board, because there is a reasonable probability exists that the board fails.

We came today to a message from an angry gamer with a good deal kilos overweight. The man had just purchased Wii Fit and wanted to ge..."

For many players, Wii Fit is something of a phenomenon that has appeared out of no where, but the reality is that there have been years of toiling to create what has eventually become the finished product. From sumo wrestlers to a Central Park launch event, WiiFitChat.com documents the history of Wii Fit in a timeline.

Most Wii Fit reviews have been positive in nature; praising the title's method of getting those who don't exercise much, up off the couch and moving. However, Maxim magazine takes a very different tact, exclaiming to Nintendo that Wii Fit can *bleep* off.

"The magic of the Internet (specifically Flickr) allows players to document their experience with Wii Fit in photographs, and that's just what we aim to show you in this feature. From Scotland to Japan and from Australia to Italy, we've compiled images that show how the whole planet (and its pets) is getting into the Wii Fit groove."

"Nintendo has apologised to those offended by Wii Fit after the software came under fire for dubbing children "fat".

Update: Nintendo has issued CVG its full statement regarding Wii Fit complaints: ""Nintendo would like to apologise to any customers offended by the in-game terminology used to classify a player's current BMI status, as part of the BMI measurement system integrated into Wii Fit.

"The BMI classifications featured within Wii Fit are universal, standard measurements widely u..."

The NPD Group recently released their tracked sales numbers for April 2008, for the four week tracking period that ends on May 3rd, 2008. Many thanks to sonycowboy at NeoGAF and the NPD Group for the numbers.

April saw the release of two major games: Grand Theft Auto IV, which shattered industry records, and Mario Kart Wii, the latest installment in Nintendo's Mario Kart franchise. You would think that there would be strong sales all around for the three current generation consoles, but ...

"Looking like a humongous Rubik's Cube, the Wii Fit ad in Times Square actually comprises of several screens that each show people doing various exercises with Nintendo Company Ltd.'s fitness program. It's a pretty neat sight, especially during the evenings."

"There have already been countless stories about how titles such as Wii Fit have been integrated into rehabilitation programs for poorly patients, and now it looks like Wii Fit and the Balance Board will have a part to play too."

"Not yet released in the US, Wii Fit has already sold millions in Japan since December and over 338,000 copies in the UK since its release two weeks ago.

With such massive promotion, experts are predicting that the exercise title is set to become the best-selling interactive fitness tool ever, outselling the likes of fitness DVDs."

"Electronic Arts has revealed that it is currently developing an exercise-title for the Nintendo Wii that makes use of the Balance Board and aims to rival Wii Fit.

The firm’s Peter Moore explained that he wanted to create a title that was more “western” in approach compared too Wii Fit; a title that will make players really sweat while working out. The key, however, making it fun:

I’ll call [Wii Fit] more eastern fitness, where it senses weight and balance, like Tai-Chi. It’s more abo..."

When you see the title, would you think this is a fanboy article? If you did, then you're wrong coz this is quite far from it.
That VideoGame Blog has analysed the situation of casual games. They seem to have problems with how these casual games sell even better than good action packed games. Read on and see how Nintendo and their casual games like Wii Sports, Crosswords DS and Wii Fit are taking over the world gaining such popularity.

"Online shoppers seem to have fed frenziedly on Wii Fit at Amazon.com, up for pre-order as of April 15, with the retailer already claiming its allocation of the Nintendo fitness title is already at capacity. The site says it is "actively seeking more of this product from suppliers" and we suspect that the impression that one will be able to get their hands on the game/non-game day one—as we foolishly suspected would be possible with the Wii itself—is looking less and less likely."

"Forget the flowers and chocolates, what Walmart wants you to treat your mother to on her special day of the year is a copy of Wii Fit. The American retail giant is pushing Nintendo’s exercise title as “the perfect gift” for Mother’s Day.

The firm’s Internet homepage is dominated by Wii Fit, with an offer that gives consumers a $10 voucher to spend on the site if they place a pre-order for the software.

“Initial response is extremely strong, and we’re feeling really good about Nintendo W..."

"This is a bit of a strange one, and something we can't see many consumers agreeing with. It seems that retailer GameStop is charging a non-refundable handling fee of $9.99 USD when purchasing Wii Fit online, bumping the price up from $89.99 to $99.99."

A survey conducted recently by TNS Technology revealed that a fifth of those that they questioned said that they were willing to cancel their Gym Membership in favour of exercising on their Wii Fit boards.

As if we needed another reason to stay in doors, the Wii Fit sure seems to be doing just that.

"YOU wouldn't expect to find a videogame in the middle of an exercise convention – but at the Australian Fitness Expo, the place was teeming with technology.

There were virtual fighting machines, running games, and even an exercise bike that simulated the Tour De France. But the biggest stand was reserved for the most unlikely demonstrator – Nintendo.

The computer game company muscled in on the expo to exhibit its upcoming new game, Wii Fit. It consists of a series of minigames control..."

In an interview with the Times Online, Wii Fit designer Shigeru Miyamoto said people should strike a healthy balance between outdoor activity with their gaming habit. Well, maybe if you stopped making your games so awesome, Shiggy, we'd think about it.

"Girls Aloud pop group member Sarah Harding and ex-Playboy model Nell McAndrew both turned up to promote Wii Fit at its launch on London's South Bank yesterday - and both, unsurprisingly, came away with nothing but praise for it - ex-Playboy model McAndrew describing it as "perfect for her."

"Wii Fit lands on European shores this Friday, so with that in mind Nintendo's UK arm has announced that its official microsite for the fitness title is now open, giving gamers the chance to inspect the software that little bit closer."

"During the two hours, Miyamoto demonstrated the game and mostly talked about Wii Fit's origins, many of which have been discussed in the Iwata Asks series published on the game's official site. Five years ago, he says he started weighing himself every day and graphing the results in his bathroom. Eventually, that evolved into the game that will soon hit store shelves."

The Nintendo Wii Fit is being priced at $89.99 for the American gamers and will be hitting the stores on the 19th May 2008. In addition to this if you live around New York and preorder the Wii Fit (within the first 1,000 to do so) then you will receive a special edition Wii Fit that.. Wait for it, will have a reproduced Shigeru Miyamoto signature on it.

Hurrah, good times.

As previously reported, the PSP is the top hardware-seller this week, mainly on the back of one surefire million-seller: Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. The other consoles, with no major new releases this week, all take a step back, and allow the PSP into the limelight.

The top seller is Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G for the PSP, selling 880k units. The second best was last week's #1, Pokemon Ranger: Batonnage for the DS, selling 106k units. Rounding out the top five are Mobile Suit Gun...

Japan's caught Pokemon fever once again with the release of the newest Pokemon Ranger game, as shown by the Simple 2000 Software chart, which includes sales from March 17 to 23. Also on this list are some new releases and older favorites, such as Wii Sports, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

Over the past few weeks we have seen a varied assortment of games claiming a place in the top ten, and this week it's not much different, with a majority of games having released either this week or last week.

The top seller this time around is Gundam Musou Special for the PS2, selling 150k units. Coming in second is the juggernaut, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii, selling 67k units. Rounding out the top five are Wii Fit (WII - 64k), Soma Bringer (NDS - 51k) and The Idolm@ster: Live ...

"Dead Space (Oct 31, 360/PS3/PC)

Dead Space feels eerily similar to Aliens, but the introductory trailer and our first hands-on demonstrated a level of suspense, mood, and intensity we haven't seen in a while. The premise: the entire crew of a deep space mining ship has gone missing, and it's up to you, the sole survivor, to rid the vessel of alien baddies. It should be noted that EA's survival horror only marginally beat out Left 4 Dead (360/PC), the fast-paced Zombie Killer by Valve with ..."

"I’ll make this easy for you:

Wii Fit:

USA - May 19

Europe - April 25

Wait what? Europe gets a game like Wii Fit before the US?! Preposterous! But alas, it is confirmed, as Nintendo told GamesIndustry.biz that there is no special reasoning for the earlier release, stating that they “just decided to release Wii Fit in Europe first.”

WiiWare (Wii Software in Europe):

USA - May 12

Europe - ?

So Nintendo’s original content rival to Live Arcade and PSN will arrive just one ..."

In the most recent "Iwata Asks" article on Wii.com, Iwata interviews Nintendo's legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto about the inspiration, development, and design of the Wii Fit.
And in an afterthought Miyamoto also added that the Wii Fit isn't supposed to make a person fit. It is merely intended to make people more aware of their bodies.
Hmmm ... probably should have kept that part to yourself, Miyamoto.

Two major juggernauts have finally been released in the land of the rising sun: Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Devil May Cry 4. The clear victor? Brawl. Also, seven of the top ten are new releases.

As such, the top seller this week is Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii, selling 820k copies. Second is the PS3 version of Devil May Cry 4, selling 205k copies. Rounding out the top five are Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut (PS2 - 117k), Haruhi Suzumiya's Wonderment (PS2 - 114k) and Wii Fit (...

It's not a really interesting week this time around, with this week being the week before two big games come out in Japan. As such, there is also a healthy mix of games in this top fifty that is also reflected in the top ten.

The top selling game this go around is the crtically-acclaimed nongame Wii Fit, selling 89k copies. Coming in second is World Soccer Winning Eleven: Ubiquitous Evolution 2008 for the PSP, selling 77k copies. Rounding out the top five are Lucky Star: Misasagi Sakura...

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto talked about the company's new plans for 2008.
And although the interview's main focus was aimed towards his plans for the Wii Fit, the highlight was the mention of a possible Super Mario Galaxy sequel and a new Legend of Zelda title for Wii.

After feeling the fierce drop of the post-holiday shopping season, the Japanese market had some life instilled in it due to a new release reaching up to #2 on the charts. Overall, however, it's just mediocre/standard non-holiday numbers that will dominate the next couple weeks until Super Smash Bros. Brawl hits.

Japan's top-seller once again is our favorite non-game, Wii Fit, selling 92k copies. Coming in second is the aforementioned new release, the NDS version of Mario and Sonic at the...

"The study revealed that the Nintendo Wii, while certainly promoting an increase in physical activity, failed to impress in terms of convincing as a decent form of cardiovascular exercise.

Specifically, the 30 minutes of boxercise emerged as the most taxing on the cardiovascular system, while the 30 minutes on Wii boxing came in second and a 30-minute walk came in third."

So, it's the week after the holiday season. You know what that means? Sales completely drop all around. Nothing really survived the post-holiday massacre other than this week's top selling game, by a clear long shot.

This week's top-selling game is Wii Fit, selling 90k copies. The #2 this week is every child's favorite game, Mario Party DS, selling 43k copies. Rounding out the top five are Wii Sports (WII - 33k), Final Fantasy IV (NDS - 32k), and Monster Hunter Portable 2nd (PSP - 26k...

Quickly after updating with the previous week's pre-New Year's sales, Media Create has updated their weekly rankings to reflect the sales for the week of one the biggest holiday shopping weeks in Japan, New Year's. Nintendo regains control of the top ten after Sony's penetration the previous week, and games on Nintendo consoles make for 41 out of the 50 games in the Top 50.

The top seller for this New Year's week is the child-favorite Mario Party DS, selling 196k copies. Next up is the n...

After a week's hiatus, we finally get Media Create's software rankings, along with hardware and software numbers for the week preceding New Year's Day. Contrary to the preceding week's Nintendo domination, games from a system not owned by Nintendo broke into the top ten. Hardware wise, it's still the same old, with the DS, PSP and Wii selling in the six figure range, while the PS3 ranges around 55k.

This week's top seller is the new Super Robot Taisen game, Super Robot Taisen OG Gaiden, ...

It picked up an Emmy in 2007 for its invention of the D-Pad, and now the Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and DS dual/touch screen functionality have combined to see Nintendo scoop another Emmy at this year's awards in Las Vegas.

Honestly, there's no other way to put it. This tracking week is still well into the holiday season in Japan, and if it were somehow possible, DS Lite and Wii numbers increased. 41 out of the Top 50 are on a Nintendo system, with no 360 showing, and Sony representing the other nine. The PSP continues the have same problem that it had last week. But still, the Nintendo numbers, frankly, are completely and utterly absurd.

At the top of the rankings is our newest DS million-seller, Mario P...

It's another zany sales week in Japan, with DS and Wii sales shooting through the roof in a Nintendo-dominated top ten, and some weird and disheartening PSP sales.

There was a flip-flop at the top of the rankings, as this week's top seller was last week's #2, Mario Party DS, selling 180k units. The #2 seller is last week's #1, Wii Fit, with 124k units sold. Rounding out the top five is the only non-DS/Wii game in the top ten, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3 - 116k - BD Version), Professor L...

Welcome to this week's Media Create numbers, where we see the holiday fervor in full swing with increased numbers across the board (with exception). The combined strength of new releases and continued strong sales of recently released games both contribute to the numbers this week.

The top software seller this week is our favorite Wii non-game, Wii Fit, pushing very nearly 150k units. Following it in the #2 position is Mario Party DS, selling 107k units. Rounding out the top five are Ta...

"The prospect of stepping onto the Wii Fit pressure board might fill some gamers with dread, not least because Nintendo’s drive to reach every possible demographic looks to be creating a great many experience that cannot be categorised as games, new Wii Fit trailer clips are revealing that there’s a lot of fun to be had while working up a sweat."

This week has six new games reach the top 10, with four of them in the top five. Wii sales have also increased this week, even to the point of outselling the PSP.

The top seller this week is Professor Layton and Pandora's Box for the DS, selling almost 300k units (294k). Next is the latest and most interesting Nintendo casual game for the Wii, Wii Fit, sellilng 261k units. Rounding out the top five are SD Gundam G Generation Spirits (PS2 - 252k), last week's #1, Dragon Quest IV (NDS - 1...

We already know that Nintendo is currently leading in the current console war. This week's Famitsu magazine seems to confirm this. When asked about what systems and games retailers expect to have the toughest time keeping in stock due to the high demands of the public this holiday season, Nintendo products such as Wii Fit and the Nintendo DS Lite topped the list.

Tony Hawk stated that using the Wii Fit Board as a controller for a future Tony Hawk game could work, but they just have to figure out how they'd make it work, considering as how it would change the control scheme of past Tony Hawk games completely. To me, it seems like it would be fun in a way. It'd probably feel a lot like playing those virtual-skateboarding/snowboarding games at arcade room.

"It's been a while since we've seen anything on Wii Fit, but Dengeki Online has an update that includes several screens, a shot of the boxed set, and a video preview of the fitness title. The Japanese release date is getting closer and closer, and we can't wait to gauge public reaction to the title. Critically, of course, the nongame continues to be lauded; Popular Mechanics recently named it one of the top ten "gadgets" of 2007, and it's not even out yet!

Jog on past the break to get a pee..."

Nintendo is arranging some form of Zapper demo using a Zelda mini-game called Zelda Crossbow Training. Could this be the Zelda that was said to be in the works, and is this one game or is it going to be a mini-game collection? Believed to use the Twilight Princess engine, the demo was shown off to GameStop managers in Las Vegas today.
