Despite Wii Music's average sales and the lack of fans, Nintendo haven't given up. They are relying on word-of-mouth to raise hype for the game and earn it more sales.

Well originally we all believed Wii Music would be a big load of fail. First came the horrible advertisements, then all the negative feedback in blogs and reviews alike. We also read articles such as this one.

Wii Music also topped the Wii section. This was followed by the popular Guitar Hero: World Tour and then the ever well selling Wii Fit.

It's fair to say most gamers have bashed Wii Music, most not even considering it a game at all, just some shovel ware Nintendo wants to sell to idiotic casual gamers. And perhaps Nintendo will try a little harder to please hardcore gamers next time, as fans have struck Nintendo where it hurts most, their wallets. Early sales reports for Wii Music estimates its sales around 50 000 so far, which while good comes no where near Wii Fit. Nintendo are still defending the title though, Cammie Dunawa...

After Nintendo's E3 press conference, the inevitable disappointment has started to set in. Nintendo flatly denied any plans to fix the Wii's storage problem and Miyamoto told interviewers that they weren't going to show hardcore games at E3 (despite promises).

They were certainly right about the lack of "hardcore" games. Today Miyamoto was asked about whether Wii Music is truly a game - and his response was that it's "better than a video game". Why? Because it has "no discernible scoring ...

Katsuya Eguchi: The Animal Crossing series has always had a big emphasis on the communication theme -- you know, communication between players. In the GameCube version, of course, we had keyboard functionality to support that sort of communication, but now with WiiSpeak, we really get that stron..."

"Miyamoto pointed out that while he knows how to play the guitar, he does not know how to play the saxophone. His point? Wii Music is a game that is easy to learn and everyone in the family can participate and enjoy but has other features for players who want that higher skill factor."

"Purely rumour and speculation at the moment, this one, but word has it that Nintendo's upcoming Wii Music title will make use of the Wii Balance Board, specifically as drum pedals."
