European shoppers will find a slightly different looking Wii on the shelves for the holiday. The new Wii Family Edition was announced by Nintendo at GamesCom today.
"It has been an impressive week for sales with Memorial Day just passing and game companies pushing to get sales up for the start of summer vacation. Amazon is keeping the sales coming with their newest offer of buy one get one free Nintendo games. The sale is only good while the products last, and they are going very quickly with less than 20 of each game left."
"Video game competitions are nothing new, and have even managed to create a new job as a professional gamer. However, what Nintendo plans on doing will require a little bit of activity, and even less dignity. The Wii Olympics are coming."
"Following Electronic Theatre’s report on the North American release of black Wii controllers earlier this morning, Nintendo have confirmed that the Wii console is about to get an exciting new look as it launches across Europe in sleek black."

Since the advent of online gaming, workplaces and schools have been struggling to keep up, blocking any sites they consider counter-productive. Who knew this would be a problem with cops in the field?
During a drug raid in March, detectives found a Wii sitting among the suspect's belongings. Some bored investigators decided to fire it up and start playing bowling in Wii Sports while colleagues continued scouring the home for evidence.
Little did they know, the suspect had a wireless c...

Ah, now doesnt that just warm your heart? Anyway, the study also found that gaming could help couples stay together. You might want read on before continuing through with that call to your divorce lawyer."
It's fair to say most gamers have bashed Wii Music, most not even considering it a game at all, just some shovel ware Nintendo wants to sell to idiotic casual gamers. And perhaps Nintendo will try a little harder to please hardcore gamers next time, as fans have struck Nintendo where it hurts most, their wallets. Early sales reports for Wii Music estimates its sales around 50 000 so far, which while good comes no where near Wii Fit. Nintendo are still defending the title though, Cammie Dunawa...
The Nintendo Wii has copped a lot for going with the whole "casual game" theme, though maybe some people enjoy it more than others.
Robin Yates of Patterson Mill Middle/High School has been letting her students who have autism play with a Nintendo Wii each day. There's been nothing but very positive feedback, with all the kids loving it. It allows the kids who have this condition be active when normally they wouldn't be. It offers easy play so anyone can have fun and it's been noted that i...
A study conducted by the University of Wisconsin shows that Wii Sports, the sports game published and developed by Nintendo, is helping adults burn calories for adults. Baseball, tennis, and bowling can burn up to 3.9 to 10.2 calories a minute. The highest calorie burner was boxing, burning 216 calories in 30 minutes and the lowest was golf, which burned only 117 calories. However, Cordero McCalure, a GameStop employee, said that no kids come looking for Wii games and Best Buy employees state...
According to the article, the casual games are going a little too far. Nintendo always has a fun, casual game to play. There's Nintendogs, Brain Age games, Wii Sports, and tons of others! After awhile, E3 2008 bestows its greatness upon us and what games do we get? Another Wii Sports game and a music game without an air guitar. Do you agree with the article, have the casual games gone too far?

This atmospheric first-person shooter game drew players in to a unique dystopian setting and broke ground with a storyline that forced players to make moral decisions.
Portal
One of the most original (and funny) games in recent history requires players to solve puzzles using a teleporting "Portal Gun." It also features a hugely compelling character in the computerized guide GLaDOS.

"The study revealed that the Nintendo Wii, while certainly promoting an increase in physical activity, failed to impress in terms of convincing as a decent form of cardiovascular exercise.
Specifically, the 30 minutes of boxercise emerged as the most taxing on the cardiovascular system, while the 30 minutes on Wii boxing came in second and a 30-minute walk came in third."
"11-year-old Taylor Smith, who has suffered with degenerative muscle disease arthrogryposis all her life, was gifted with her very own Wii this festive period courtesy of Nintendo after a family friend wrote to Nintendo in Australia asking for its assistance."
"Tech Web site Ars Technica has recently revealed that Missouri-based chain Slackers is turning away in-store patrons eager to secure a unit of the Wii, while its stock allocation is selling through online auction Web site eBay for a "Buy It Now" price of $399.99 USD, which is $150 USD more than the recommended retail price of $249.99 USD."
It's another zany sales week in Japan, with DS and Wii sales shooting through the roof in a Nintendo-dominated top ten, and some weird and disheartening PSP sales.
There was a flip-flop at the top of the rankings, as this week's top seller was last week's #2, Mario Party DS, selling 180k units. The #2 seller is last week's #1, Wii Fit, with 124k units sold. Rounding out the top five is the only non-DS/Wii game in the top ten, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3 - 116k - BD Version), Professor L...
"The accompanying price tag may mean re-mortgaging the house or selling granny into the slave trade, but if youre prepared to break the bank, risk your marriage, or bid farewell to your kids higher education in order to secure the Wii, then its yours... for the right price."
"Cannily titled: Topless Wii, its unclear as to whether the following series of tantalising video clips have been designed to alleviate the gathering frustrations of shoppers searching in vain through masses of online retail stores or for some other reason that only the lowest common denominator and one-handed typists can truly relate to."
A man, who's name is Tony has busted his wife cheating on him by simply going through the Wii's history or in other words calendar.
Tony who has been in Iraq for about a year has had his Wii sent to him while on duty before he shipped it back the U.S. During April 2007, he arrived home hearing that his wife has been with another man. Tony then confronted her and the wife just claimed to have had an innocent kiss with a man only once.
During November, this month. Tony visited the Mii cha...

Nintendo is arranging some form of Zapper demo using a Zelda mini-game called Zelda Crossbow Training. Could this be the Zelda that was said to be in the works, and is this one game or is it going to be a mini-game collection? Believed to use the Twilight Princess engine, the demo was shown off to GameStop managers in Las Vegas today.
"Videogames developers are always copying ideas from one another. Its happened since the birth of the industry and it's a trend that will continue - that's business - but rarely is it so blatantly obvious as in the case of IN2Games REALPLAY series, which was announced today for the PlayStation 2.
Even if it plays well, it's such an unashamed act of hopping on a bandwagon recently established in mainstream gaming that GamerSquad is inclined to feel a little bit of embarrassment for the fi..."
June of this year, the semi-professional tennis player, Jerry Pope, suffered a stroke. However, during his rehabilitation, he refused to do the repetitive, boring exercises. His doctor had heard about another patient who was using the Wii to help recover from a stroke, and he thought it was a brilliant idea. Pope went into Wiihab by playing Tennis (from Wii Sports) several times a week. It was one of the first steps to helping him from recovery.
The Wii seems to be able to help a bunch...

"It had to happen really, the very nature of gameplay associated with the Nintendo Wii lends itself too conveniently to eventual medical criticism regarding repetitive strain injury (RSI), tennis elbow, or some other kind or related tendonitis. So, bearing that in mind, meet Dr. Julio Bonis, whos taken to labelling physical Wii complaints as Wiiitis. We kid you not."
