"Sony has updated the Playstation Network Store and revealed the first set of special offers for Playstation Plus subscribers on top of the regular additions for non-subscribers. The first PS Plus sales are from 50% off on select Midway classic arcade titles and slight discounts but free DLC from TikGames/Creat Studios."

"Mario's racing days are in the past! Almost dead at this point. Due to the longevity and lack of creativity in the series, the game is getting outdated. Their is a cure for those who want a great vehicular combat racing game. Here are some racing games that can put Mario Kart on the ropes."

"Spring Fever continues this week on the Playstation Store with WipEout HD on sale for 50%. WipEout HD is going to be one of the first games that supports 3D when the PS3 firmware update is released in June. WipEout HD is a great game whether its in 3D or not so this next week will be a good time to pick the game up if you're interested in it."

"The much hyped update that will enable the Playstation 3 to play games in 3D is coming this June alongside the launch of Sony's 3D HDTV line-up. The first set will be the HX803 3D TV. As a bonus, people who purchase the HX803 will get vouchers for four 3D capable PS3 games."

"A recent episode of Qore on the Playstation Network revealed that a number of existing games such as Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5, and Wipeout HD would be getting the 3D treatment. However, Sony has recently issued a "clarification" according to the site that originally posted the story, The Gamer Access."

"Previously available via PlayStation Network only, the game will retail for approximately £19.99 GBP and ships on a single disc complete with the Fury downloadable content pack. Just in case you're unfamiliar with the expansion, Fury throws in 12 new tracks, 13 additional ships, six new music tracks, redesigned menu, a new campaign plus extra Trophies. ""The ad has been removed from WipEout HD and we are investigating the situation to ensure that any in-game advertising does not affect gameplay," said a spokesperson for the platform holder."

It seems that PSN is getting some ads of its own, the latest WipEout HD brings advertisements during those load screens. The worst part: The ads appear to increase the load times by 10 seconds. Luckily it's not every time you load.

This video shows the load time difference, however, various comments on youtube suggest that the load time is NOT affected, or at least not quite as much.

A look at the newest expansion pack coming to Wipeout HD. Being called Fury the pack will include new tracks, 13 new ship models and 3 new game modes. It is scheduled to be released sometime this Summer.

"In this dark cloud known as the Global Economic Meltdown, it's hard to justify spending 60 bucks on a new video game.

But the best games for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii aren't necessarily those for sale in stores.

Some of the most inventive titles are downloadable games, small chunks of digital fun that cost only $5 to $15 apiece."

"One of the defining games of the original Playstation; Wipeout had pulsating visuals, blistering speed and a cool club soundtrack that all made it an essential purchase for speed junkies. It was the title that made Playstation cool. Fast forward two generations of consoles and here we are again with Wipeout HD."

Soome good news for people who were experiencing problems with Wipeout HD. A patch has been released to fix this problem. But along with it some bad news. For it to fully work, your going to have to delete your current gamesave. My suggestion, save it to a thumbdrive first, then delete it. Then copy it to your HDD.

If you have downloaded the WipEout game then you might have experianced the problem with not being able to go online because of having to many friends. Well there seems t be a temporary solution to this problem. Fallow this step by step procuder to fix the problem without having to delete your friends

WipEout HD - the racing game developed by the SCE Studio in Liverpool - has only been out a day, but it's already causing problems. Players have been experiencing freezing PS3s while playing and some can't even get online.

A lot of people are being effected by these bugs, as you can see in this EU PlayStation thread.

CVG noticed that when you start up your WipEoutHD game, that there are some serious health warnings. It warns that if you have epilepsy you shouldn't be playing it, and also to take breaks every 15 minutes. Here is the warning:

"Always play in a well lit environment. Take regular breaks, 15 minutes every hour. Discontinue playing if you experience dizziness, nausea, fatigue or have a headache.

"Some individuals are sensitive to flashing or flickering lights or geometric shapes and patte...

Today is the day the long time favourite Wipeout returns to the Playstation but not without it's problems.
It seems the online element is broken at present due to a bug whereby if you have more then 50 friends on your friend list the game freezes when you attempt to play online. The solution is simple, either don't play online or delete your friends.
Hopefully a patch will fix this although no word of a patch has been announced yet.

Wipeout HD game director Tony Buckley tells us why the latest WipEout will be PlayStation Network's defining moment and also why Wipeout HD was delayed initially.

Wipeout HD is yet another PSN game which will be featuring trophies. And with awesome review scores there really isn't any not reason to pick it up. At the source is a list of trophies for the game either Bronze, Silver or Gold and even a few hidden ones. Apparently 7 hidden ones have yet to be discovered but this site will feature updates as they are found.

Sony has announced that its latest racing effort Wipeout HD will be released for download in two weeks time on September 25th via the Playstation Network. The title will be sold at a $19.99 clip.

Dunno if you guys remember or not, but when WipEout HD's once highly anticipated Zone Mode had to undergo some "downgrading" due to failing epilepsy tests, everyone was disappointed.

Sooner or later, you knew there was going to be a comparison video between the two different versions of the mode, and it is finally here. D PAD has it, check it out in the source.

The popular WipEout series is hitting the Playstation Network in glorious High Definition. Some brand new screen shots have been released. Mostly showing off the vehicles and the tracks. Click the link to view all the screenshots.

Peter Dille, Senior Vice President of marketing at Sony, and the guy in charge of the PSN has posted a blog post on the official US Playstation blog. In it, he discusses how this year will lead to massive expansions in terms of the PSN's service.

According to him, the three major goals for the year are to provide the best free online gaming possible, providing 'digital media download services', and providing 'original content'.

The two major things that he revealed though, are that a d...

Terrible plan on words I know, but couldn't think of anything else...In any case, the new trailer for Wipeout HD has now been released exclusively at EuroGamer TV. With no release date set as of yet, this is one of the first of many trailers we will be seeing over the coming months, and with the game being able to support 1080p, this trailer just shows you how amazing racing is set to become.

Some of the points made in the video:

  • Ultra - Smooth: 60 frames per second animation
  • Full HD 108...

"With Sony's press conference in the past, we've created a roundup of all the small, but significant, announcements and confirmations. This year, Sony allowed very little time for the audience to ponder and absorb, so a lot of the groundbreaking revelations were not emphasised. This was of course a good thing, as it showed that Sony had a lot of things to say. So aside from the major announcements, such as MGS4, Haze and UT3 exclusivity, here are the other tidbits:

- 200 games on Blu-ray an..."

"During the last few weeks, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has been showcasing Wipeout Pulse the European gaming press at it's PlayStation-branded loft in London. While the PSP sequel was the focus of the event, questions about Wipeout PlayStation 3 were inevitable -- Sony's Liverpool studio director Clemens Wangerin confirmed the game in a recent issue of Develop magazine -- so we asked Game Director Tony Buckley for more details.

Understandably, Buckley wasn't too forthcoming, but con..."
