Nintendo gave away twenty free downloads divided evenly between NES and GBA games to early adopters of the 3DS. These Ambassadors can get at least one more free game of their choice - for either the 3DS or Wii - if they are members of Club Nintendo.

This weeks Nintendo Digital Releases shows off the next 3D classic, Xevious, as well as the Nintendo Channel. What? Didn't know it was releasing in North America? Yup, us neither. Guess Nintendo decided it was coming here after all.

"Creating 3D Classics for the Nintendo 3DS sounds like a fantastic idea on paper. However, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata acknowledges the company is currently finding it rather troublesome, and difficult to create the games. Porting 2D games results in a lot of discrepancies, as explained by Nintendo developer Takao Nakana."

The 80s were a turbulent time for videogames, with the end of the industry nearly in sight. Great game innovation kept it alive. The Kartel highlights the games of the 80s that are still just as fun to play today.
