"On this day 25 years ago, The Legend of Zelda marked its debut in Japan for the Nintendo Entertainment System (the game released in the U.S. one year later).
Since its release, The Legend of Zelda has become one of Nintendo's signature series. The next title, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, is slated for release later this year.
For those readers who owned The Legend of Zelda during the NES era, it was an incredible game -- not to mention it was housed inside a very cool gold cartri..."
"Zelda and charity – our two favorite things, combined into one. And where else does this sort of glorious combination occur other than a gaming marathon? Which is why we’re here to remind you that Zeldathon begins today, and the team running through our favorite franchise is raising money for the American Cancer Society along the way."
Snarkasaur of Spawn Kill highlights some of Club Nintendo's newest member's only swag. The latest additions to the site include some attractive Legend of Zelda posters.
A guy made a video on YouTube doing what I remember GameTrailers did quite a while ago, explaining the Zelda timeline. This guy did a complete job imo, very well done, and should be watched. However, he has received a response from Nintendo about this timeline saying.. there is no timeline. I've included the original video and the response in the quote.
At Shigeru Miyamoto's Developer Roundtable, after talking about the upcoming DS title The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, the legendary creator spent a little time discussing the newest Zelda for the Wii. An image was shown of a grown-up Link standing next to a woman in a blue robe. He also states that he would like to make the game compatible with Wii MotionPlus, and to think of Zelda while playing the archery and swordfighting games in Wii Sports Resort.
Miyamoto hopes to formally anno...
"The times may change, but the legend remains: A dark wizard, a princess in peril, and an emerald-clad boy as the kingdom's only hope. Like all great fables of times long past, the story of Link has changed much over the years, retold in a new way for each coming generation, but timeless nonetheless. It's a legacy few other franchises can equal, and these 22 years have elevated Link to stand among the upper echelon of video game royalty.
That kind of legacy means walking a delicate line; co..."
""What I've been saying to our development teams recently is that Twilight Princess was not a bad game, by any means. But, still, it felt like there was something missing," explains the Wii Fit creator. "And while, personally, I feel like Super Mario Galaxy was able to do some things that were very new and were very unique, at the same time, from another perspective, certain elements of it do feel somewhat conservative in terms of how far we branched out with design. And so this is something I..."
Introducing Waninkoko's Wii ISO Loader, a clever little program that allows you to play your legally backed up copies of Wii games on your Wii via a little bit of homebrew.
As seen in the video linked after the jump- users have successfully booted up, and played The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess right off of their Wii.
Not certain of when this will come out of work-in-progress status, but once it does one thing is certain; we are going to need that Wii-Storage Solution.
Amazon has created a product page for a new book titled The Legend of Zelda and Philosophy, which is being edited by Luke Cuddy. The Legend of Zelda and Philosophy is the latest book to enter the "longrunning Popular Culture and Philosophy series."
The publisher of the book believes it will answers many questions about the Zelda series, ranging from seeing Hyrule as an ideal society to considering Zelda art.
Hot off of the Mario Marathon last month, they are at it again. The Mario Marathon team will be partnering up with Cameron Banga and the Four48 Team in bringing you a marathon gaming session of the seven console Zelda titles, from the original classic Legend of Zelda to the newest Zelda title, Twilight Princess. The group will be soliciting donations, with all proceeds going towards Penny Arcade's Child's Play Charity, which buys toys and video games to children's hospitals across the count...
"Placing a drawing pin on a colleague's seat, making a prank call, wearing a funny wig, informing a friend their entire family has perished in an accident - all classic April Fool's Day gags. But producing a high-budget action-packed CG-heavy trailer for a movie version of The Legend of Zelda? That's a whole new level of commitment.
Legend of Zelda
Kudos, then, to our friends at IGN.com, for we wonder if they've done just that - putting out a call for actors with green vests, long hair..."
The Legend of Zelda series has often been regarded as being one of the most epic and groundbreaking series of all time. The original Legend of Zelda for the NES introduced us to the dungeon-crawling formula, while later games for the SNES and N64 refined the gameplay, controls, and graphics. The N64 entry, Ocarina of Time, is often debated as being the greatest game of all time. (it holds an average review score of 99% on Media Critic)

"Things have been fairly subdued on the Wii Zapper front since the device was shown off at E3 in July, but news of a release date in North America just landed in the GamerSquad mailbox - November 19 is the date to mark in your diaries. As previously announced, itll cost US gamers $19.99 (£10 / 15).
However, while dates and prices are sorta interesting, theyre not as interesting as new Zelda games, right? Right. Well, heres something: the Zapper will also come with a new Zelda title bund..."
Nintendo is arranging some form of Zapper demo using a Zelda mini-game called Zelda Crossbow Training. Could this be the Zelda that was said to be in the works, and is this one game or is it going to be a mini-game collection? Believed to use the Twilight Princess engine, the demo was shown off to GameStop managers in Las Vegas today.
It seems that peripheral and accessory makers really cannot get enough of the Nintendo Wii... shame they can't produce anything truly worthwhile to match that enthusiasm.
Take a peek at this latest sword and shield Hero Pack that's on offer for the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Gasp at its authenticity... and ponder as to why on Earth you'd ever need it.
The Legend of Zelda will need to change if Nintendo want it to continue being successful inside and outside Japan. Twilight Princess did not do very well because it was not difficult enough compared to other Zelda games. Now in this article there is 4 ways to improve the next Zelda game and if Nintendo do implement them it could actually be the perfect RPG to be ever made.
The four ways Zelda can be improved is to change the setting first of all. Being always in Hyrule has gotten boring f...
Computer and Video Games posts an editorial asking whether or not the time is right for Nintendo's venerated Zelda series to take a step back and re-evaluate where it intends on going. The article notes that the core of Zelda is not so particularly "broken" as to require immediate "fixing", but it could stand to have new life breathed into it. Perhaps you've already heard of some fans wishing for the series to stop rehashing Ocarina of Time, and bring back to some of the elements seen in th...
"Legendary Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has told Entertainment Weekly that he believes Twilight Princess didn't do well in Japan because there are fewer and fewer people interested in playing big RPGs.
When asked his opinion on why Zelda isn't doing well in Japan, Miyamoto replied, "Well, I think a lot of people who bought the Wii are not necessarily the types of people who are interested in playing that kind of game. And a lot of the people who would want to play it [due to chro..."
