Getting a Good Customized PC without Having to rob a Bank

tallteen86 | 28 days 7 hours ago | Guides | PC
Well, IMO, it would probably take a bit more than just a high-end rig to make someone truly 'hardcore'. Things like familiarity with the components, and the different companies, and what is good with what rig, as well as actually PLAYING good games on the rig, are important qualifiers of being truly hardcore. But still, spending that much money on a custom rig would net you some points.

It should be noted, that this article doesn't cover PC building, so much as PC buying....It recommends...

Top 5 ways to kill time in Assassin's Creed

gamingverdict | May 30, 2008 | Guides | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
"Assassin’s Creed was awesome, but I’m not here to debate that. Even so, as much as I loved the game, there were a stack of niggles that added up to one giant sabre-toothed niggle monster. So, like a good Ritalin-deprived action gamer, I found my own ways to enjoy Assassin’s Creed to its fullest.

Care to join me in a mostly inappropriate trip to the 12th Century Holy Land? Good. For this week’s hobby, you’ll need several hours to waste, a completed copy of Assassin’s Creed, an Xbox 360 (or ..."

Recording gameplay action from the PlayStation 3 images attached to an article

N.Shah | January 05, 2008 | Guides | Playstation 3
"Using HDMI, you cannot record the video signal from the PlayStation 3 since the signal is encrypted. However, you can record the signal when using a PS3 AV cable - this does mean that the quality will be reduced dramatically. We find it easier to record our gameplay action and tutorials directly to a digital format, but you can record the signal to other devices such as a VCR, DVD recorder or PVR."

PC Games to Look Out for in 2008

Ameer | December 12, 2007 | Guides | PC
"With this year's gaming harvest already played and beaten and filed away into memory like so many saves, it is time now to look on.

Past the bulbous shores of 2007, far off in the distant recesses of release schedules, lies the gone-golden bounty of untapped potential. And while many may slip their surly bonds and give flight to the year 2009, more still will cement their crusted plastic into delighted hands. Here we mark the prophecy of the PC legacy, a concrete, yet tumultuous hour of re..."

Videogamers Guide to Getting a Wii Before Christmas! [UK]

NyffTotal90 | December 07, 2007 | Guides | Wii
"Nintendo's Wii is hot right now. So hot that if you managed to get your hands on one it would probably melt the skin from your fingers. Demand is outstripping supply to such an extent that Nintendo's motion sensing machine is flying off the shelves quicker than you can say Wii Fit. So, with that in mind, and because we love to look out for our dear readers, we thought we'd speak to the shops and ask them for their advice on making sure 2007's must have gadget is firmly secure in Santa's sack ..."

Make Your Own Lego Zapper

Ameer | December 04, 2007 | Guides | Wii Misc Gaming Tech/Hardware
"If you're anything like us, you have a collection of Lego firearms that're much too finely-crafted to take apart and throw back into their plastic pail homes -- detailed handguns, elaborate sniper rifles, and delicately heavy bazookas, all constructed out of multicolored blocks. Not everyone is as appreciative of these brick-built blasters as we are, so we've kept them hidden from the view of friends, significant others, and future offspring hellbent on breaking all of our cool stuff. Suffice..."

6 Video Game Gimmicks That Went Away Too Soon (And 6 More That Need to Die)

Ameer | August 29, 2007 | Guides | PC Playstation 2
"Since its birth, video gaming has undergone an incredible evolution, from simple sprites and a ghost-eating Pac-Man to today’s domination of home consoles. After all that time, any gamer who’s worth their weight in rupees will remember (fondly, or otherwise) some once-common sights that went the way of the Virtual GameBoy, never to be seen or heard from again. Top 5 Most Embarrassing Ways to Die in an FPS

Ameer | June 23, 2007 | Guides | PC
"Ever since Wolfenstein for the PC came out, we’ve been fragging and lagging in our favorite FPS games. Popularity of this unique genre has brought in new attention through annual tournaments and LAN Parties across the world. Where would PC gaming, or even console gaming, be without the First-Person Shooter? Humiliating opponents or yourself is hard to accomplish in most scenarios, but when done can give such a rewarding feeling to the gamer (or a broken keyboard if it happens to be you.) Shor..."

Ameer | June 21, 2007 | Guides | PC Playstation 2
"Only 23 games have ever been rated Adults Only in the 13-year history of the Entertainment Software Rating Board, according to the board's site.

If Manhunt 2's AO rating sticks it will be the twenty-fourth title to receive such a rating and the first console title, not including the Hot Coffee edition of GTA San Andreas, to get such a distinction.

Other AO titles include Playboy the Mansion: Private Party, which received its rating due to nudity and strong sexual content; the director's..."
