If anyone's still calling the Wii a fad, check this: Nintendo announced today at E3 they're pumping out 700,000 Wii consoles per month and 200,000 DS' per week (or 800,000 per month).

One thing that defines a fad is a sharp and sudden burst in sales, and then an even faster decline once everyone comes to their senses about their purchases. If the Wii really is a fad, it's taking a really long time to die down.

According to Nintendo's E3 press conference earlier today, they're still dishing out 700,000 Wii consoles a month. Imagine what the holidays would do to sales. The DS is doing even better, with 200,000 units dished out every week.
