Enterbrain's Hirokazu Hamamura: Nintendo is the Driving Force for the Growth of the Industry in Japan

Before this generation started, the Japanese video game market was facing a downward trend; overall sales for both hardware and software were dropping over time. However, that trend has reversed since the launch of both the Nintendo DS and Wii, which has revitalized the market. MCVUK's Neil Long had a chance to chat with Enterbrain President Hirokazu Hamamura about how the video game market is progressing in Japan, and the various aspects of it.

Hamamura agrees with the notion that Nintendo is the driving force for the growth of the industry and market, noting that the company's ability to attract new gamers allows the Japanese market to expand. He also notes that the PSP is seeing strong sales, and hopes that the PS3 and 360 will start seeing increased sales.
