Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter has released new figures for the amount of consoles sold in the US, and whilst Wii has sold double that of the other consoles, the second place went to PS3 that managed to sell a couple more thousand consoles than the XBOX360.

With higher sales in Japan and Europe, it seems that Sony are slowly but surely lowering the gap between the two consoles.

Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter has jut posted his hardware sales estimates for August. And here they are:

* Wii - 550,000
* PS3 - 225,000
* 360 - 200,000

    Oooooo 25,000 more big big margin... Not, the PS3 is not going to do much to the 360's lead if it is only outselling it by stupid numbers like that.

      Baby steps man, baby steps. You have to crawl before you can run.

      Its already closing the gap alot worldwide total sales. So slowly but surely, as Koloth stated, its going to be able to walk, then run.

      HAHA yea Koloth, but who knows when that'll be, maybe I should drag some rope attached it to some poles and trip the Wii...

      That's 25,000 in ONE Region. Remember that they hardly sell in Japan, so that's another say 100,000, and then there's the EU which boosts it even further.

    That makes sense allot of people already knew about the September price cut for the 360, or are waiting till they can find a 360 with the new Jasper board in it.

      Lotta people bringing up the price drop. We'll just have to wait to see if it truly does toss up the numbers like analysts expect.

        I hjave said in another topic that the 360 already lowered it's price to shift leftover stock of the 20Gb Xbox 360 and it barealy did anything to increase sales, i do not see the new price cut doing any different.

      That is good for me, upcoming numbers will decide which I will buy sometime at the end of this year or start of next year.
