Edge-Online: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Fastest Selling Star Wars Game!

On Tuesday LucasArts has announced that their new game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, is the fastest selling Star Wars game and LucasArts game of all time!

It was released September 16th in North America, September 17th in Australia and Southeast Asia and September 19th in Europe.

All up, it's sold 1.5 million copies already with demand still high. So much in fact that they're shipping out millions of more copies right now to meet expected future demand.

The publisher said Tuesday that the title has sold 1.5 million copies, making it the fastest-selling Star Wars game and LucasArts game ever.

Apparently, LucasArts wasn't prepared for the consumer response. The firm said it initially shipped 4.3 million copies of the game worldwide, but amidst strong demand will manufacture and distribute more units.

    I knew this game was special even from the demo. Sure the demo wasn't all that crazy, but it gave me a taste of what the game has and more. This game is beyond any Star Wars game I've watched and temporarily played.

    Im a star wars fan, and this is the best SW game I've played.

    I would say its up there with the best Jedi-action based games, like the Jedi Knight series and the AWESOME Jedi Power Battles.

    I still like the Battlefront series overall. KOTOR was cool too.

    I gotta admit, TFU was definitely better than Shadows of the Empire, both in story and gameplay. Dash Rendar always seemed kinda pointless to me.


    As for the sales of TFU, perhaps The Dark Side of the Force has clouded all the fan's minds?

    Granted, its a great game. But Im not giving credit to a game that I dont like, but you clearly do. Each of us have differing opinions on the game. Clearly you enjoy it. I find it middleroad.

    It's a great game which is due more credit. I think a lot of people worry that it's going to become the next CGI Star Wars movie. Personally I'd love that. <3
