Interplay, the previous owners of the Fallout franchise before it was sold to Bethesda have announced on there website that they are developing a Fallout MMO. Apparently retaining the rights to create a Massive Multiplayer Online game based on the IP. It is early days yet but the company is already hiring new and old developers as production ramps up.

The company also announced that Chris Taylor, a game designer who was a part of the original Fallout game development team at Interplay in 1994, has rejoined the company. Taylor will serve as Lead System Designer for “Project V13,” the working title of Interplay’s next generation Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMO) currently in development. Taylor joins other original Fallout team members on staff at Interplay’s internal game studio, which recently opened an office in Irvine, Calif. Additional development staff members continue to be hired as the project ramps-up.

YES! Get the best of both worlds, get to play the Bethesda version which does look incredible to say the least and now an MMO Fallout made by the original dev team. Just magical.

This has been in the works for some time and is pretty far along.... Though I hope this is a return to form for Chris Taylor, because I was disappointed and seriously pissed I laid down $$ for the 1/5th of a broken game that was Space Siege.

Fallout would make a great MMO. And if it is by the original dev team, it should make for an excellent game.

/agree - but I still gotta call out Chris Taylor for the mess that was Space Siege... I hope Fallout MMO is classic Chris, and not the Chris Taylor behind Space Siege.

Guess that means we can rule out Fallout as Bethesda's MMO project. Meaning it's clearly going to be Elder Scrolls.

Because it clearly says "Fallout MMO" in the title.

Doesn't matter...the news is still about a Fallout MMO. Elder Scrolls has nothing to do with this and thus Fallout != Elder Scrolls

It does matter if I was replying to someone specific and not directly about the article obviously.

Though your comments are better off directed to Exevier considering he was the first to mention Elder Scrolls, which I was commenting to him about his comment.

Betheseda announced they were working on an MMO based upon a franchise. Most people thought it to be a Fallout MMO, but since that's being done by someone other than them already, it's got to mean an Elder Scrolls MMO. Which is kind of relevant, and that's what we were talking about. Just to clear that up.
