Media Create's initial top thirty software rankings have made their way to Japanese newssites, and with that there aren't very many surprises. Familiar names are still in the top ten, with some new releases breaking their way into the top ranks.
New releases:
02. [NDS] Dragonball DS (Namco Bandai) 72,000 / NEW
04. [PS3] Trusty Bell (Namco Bandai) 34,000 / NEW
07. [PSP] Katekyoo Hitman REBORN! Battle Arena (Marvelous) 25,000 / NEW
08. [PSP] Samurai Dou Portable PSP (Spike) 17,000 / NEW
11. [PS2] Hokuouki (Idea Factory)
16. [PS2] Heart no Kuni no Alice (Prototype)
There are six new releases in the top thirty this week, led by Dragonball DS, which clocks in at 72k copies sold. The other important new release this week is the PS3 version of Trusty Bell (Eternal Sonata), which has sold 34k in its first week. The other major new releases is Marvelous's Katekyoo Hitman REBORN! Battle Arena, which is based off a popular anime property, charting with 25k sold.
As for not new releases, Pokémon Platinum (NDS) becomes the DS's next million seller in Japan, selling a whopping 315k in its second week to put it at around 1,278,000 lifetime in nine days. Rhythm Tengokue Gold (NDS) continues to chug along, closing in on the 800k mark and looks to cross that one million threshold in the next month. Wii Fit (WII) and Mario Kart Wii (WII) also continue to sell well and continue to chart high.
For the console breakdown, 14 games are for the DS, 5 for the Wii, 4 for the PSP, 3 for the PS2, and 2 apiece for the 360 and PS3.
