Scott Steinburg is the SCEA's VP of product marketing and it's being said that his words are matching the same cocky attitude which was attached to the PS2.

In his notes, Steinburg outlined the features the PS3 brings to the table and how it's going to come out ahead of the "herd" due to superiority. He states that the other company's consoles are going to be "very dated" in the near future. He also writes that they have plenty of "blockbusters" both ready to be developed and released with others in planning.

So is Steinburg a madman who is overstepping some ropes to sell his product by over exaggeration and pride? Or will the PS3 really come to dominate the video games market? Should he provoke his competitors like that?

Not to disrespect those who like the Sony industry, but that kind of arrogance will ulimately be their downfall. I like some of their products but if they're going to act like that, then I would rather buy another console.

You act as if Sony is the only one who does this. Microsoft and Nintendo have both been doing this exact same thing since their launches, but as soon as Sony does, it's "oh, they're arrogant, I won't buy their products."

This is also the second of two recent articles regarding the PS3 apparent "lack of success." Am I sensing hosility?

So a SCEA Executive stated the PS3 is supreme and says the other consoles are going to be outdated. Sounds like its obvious that someone working at Sony is going to love their console more then the others.

ZaikXory, this has been going on for several years with Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft taking shots at each other. Its nothing new and all of them make themselves look like utter tools. Then again what do you expect? I don't ever see Sony humping MS's console or Nintendo's Wii or any of the combination. This is competition and Its a healthy, while annoying, thing in this type of business.

I get that but I think he was being a little too zealous in what he was saying, a little up himself. It's fine to list what makes your console great and better but he went so far as to make himself look stupid and to be taken not very seriously.
