Square-Enix Not Showing Anything New For PS3 At TGS 08

It dropped a super-bomb at E3 2008 with the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII on the XBOX360, and it's set to anger more Playstation 3-exclusive owners at TGS 2008 with a ~~over~~ under-whelming amount of games for the PS3. In fact, it appears that all the games on display by Square Enix for TGS08 (at least where the PS3 is concerned) will be games already announced, with maybe one or two new unseen videos shown...

Square-Enix dropped a bomb at E3 this year when they announced Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360, but can we expect any blockbuster unveilings at the Tokyo Game Show this week? Well, before the hype and anticipation starts, we'd like to say: nah.

  Who says that it'll be new information? I don't trust Square-Enix anymore. I've got a feeling the only information they'll be releasing is a trailer saying "FFXIII releasing on PS3 and X360 worldwide.... as is FFvsXIII" >_>

    - The names of Nacht, Ms.Versus, Mr.33cm and Nomchan will all be revealed.
    - The names of Nacht and Ms.Versus will be revealed via a new, extended trailer of the scene shown in the latest batch of screenshots.
    - The voice actors of numerous Versus and XIII characters will also be revealed.
    So at the least, we'll get that. =D.

i could care less if they come out with any other games besides FFXIII and FFVXIII. They both look like thier gonna be sweet ass games so as long as they put all they can into them im happy Maybe KH3 and ff14 5 years down the line

  Can't see them being timed exclusives, definetly going to stay as exclusives period. I guess your talking about Infinate Undiscovery and The Last Remnant? I'm sure we would have heard something by now.

    Yeah those games would really make my day if they were pushed to the PS3. I was hoping they would announce those this week, but I'm sure LBP will hold me over for the time being. Eternal Sonata is finally coming to the PS3 so I will be enjoying that one as well in lieu of any SE games.

    Actually I'd like to hear some confirmed news that Star Ocean 4 is a timed exclusive or also on the PS3. Infinite Undiscovery we've been already told that it is a XBOX360 exclusive, but then again.. you never know. Either way, with a 6.5 for it's review, I don't think I care about getting the game.

      I'm not trusting SE's track record for "exclusives" lately, though I would bet money that they will stick it out with the 360 exclusives.

i think its very clear who square enix is backing this gen...
i cant believe my once favourite developer have completely turned there backs on ps3 giving us no more then 1 exclusive and only 3 games for the system

I've stopped giving a shit about any big event that Squeenix attends. By now, it should be expected that they won't show anything new and big.

Squeenix I feel has lost its edge. The games it has been releasing are mediocre at best. If 13 doesn't shine I may have to find a RPG company. Losing Final Fantasy was enough, having to listen to all these people rant about how they'll buy it and not play. Waste of money to do that, but I'm giving Squeenix one more chance to show me they know what they are doing.

  Have you played The World Ends With You on the DS? An excellent and original game. It has a small, albeit strong following. I blew 400+ hours on it and didn't even notice.

I felt 12 was mediocre, it was all based on luck or chance in my opinion. X-2 doesn't even deserve the title of mediocre. I didn't say all games and if I implied that I'm sorry. Crisis Core was ok, nothing special in my opinion. I don't know I just feel Squeenix is going for quantity over quality. I did play The World Ends With You and that was promising. Final Fantasy A2 was ok as well, but I just haven't seen anything shine from Squeenix. I still find myself popping 7-10 daily, but when for instance I pop in 12 I cringe at the hours of grinding just to get a weapon. I've been a loyal Square fan all my life, but right now I just feel disconnected from their releases. The Last Remnant looks hopeful as well. I didn't mean to seem pushy, but I just haven't felt that Squeenix hasn't been producing the best quality games of late.

  No worries, I don't think anyone was looking at you in that sense. A lot of people talk shit about SE but can't seem to back it up......all of your points are pretty valid to me. I am one of the rare ones that liked FFXII......didn't seem to overly enjoy it per say but it got me through a couple of months anyway.

My main hatred for 12 is from spending 100+ hours in it just to find the easiest way to get the ultimate weapon is to not open 4 chests. I'm sorry to be harsh, but how on earth do I figure that out? Anyway, don't mean to turn this into a bash topic so thanks. From what I've seen of 13 I am very psyched!

  oh yeah that was definitely bullshit! I don't cruise forums or guides when playing certain games so as to avoid spoilers. I never did get that damn spear and I tried very hard with the second chest.

_{FF12 was bad for a few points about how it felt like a MMO on a single player game. Thats it really, other then that as a game of its own, it was awesome. But compared to other FF games, not so much.}
