Here is the official word from MTV/Harmonix regarding their partnership with Apple Corps. This is not DLC, but a new full blown game built from the ground up that may or may not be similar to the approach taken w/ Guitar Hero: Aerosmith!

Well the Apple Corps/MTV presser has ended and it’s now officially official: MTV/Harmonix have entered into a partnership with Apple Corps which will allow the game developer to produce a Beatles-centric rhythm game. Details are scant at this point. The game will deliver an “experiential journey” through the band’s career, encompassing their work from Please Please Me all the way to Let It Be. Note that this doesn’t necessarily mean that every single song from the catalog will be featured in the game, but it also doesn’t mean that that won’t be the case.

This is awesome news. It sucks that MTV couldn't include putting the "Rock Band" label somewhere on the box for the game... BUT.. doesn't matter, this game will sell like gangbusters.

dont get too excited, kids. the beatles simplistic guitar work isn't really going to make for super-fun gameplay.

I think in the end the overall fun that comes from all instruments in the band, combined with an older audience picking this game up over more skilled GH/RB players, will make their simpler sound better overall for the game.

Are you high? The only thing more fun than tripping out to The Beatles is signing the songs. The latter stuff (such as "The End" or "Back in the USSR") will definitely be fun to strum or drum to, but singing will be the main ingredient in this absolutely awesome work of art. Besides, it'd be more fun for everyone to play instead of just one person.

So Harmonix has AC/DC and The Beatles under there belt...all they need to get now is the OK from Zeppelin.

As long as there is singing and ability to play as ringo and drum, i'm perfectly fine.
