Man, two years ago, I would have never predicted this. EA takes another financial blow in this sulfuric economy, in its eight straight quarterly loss. This isn't good news for anyone, developers face job cuts, and for gamers...well, games may suffer, through lack of development or loss of money for producing them.

US videogame maker Electronic Arts failed to break its losing streak on Tuesday, reporting a net loss for the eighth quarter in a row.

It would help if they consistently made amazing games... Dead Space is the only internally developed IP in years that was a world class effort. Remove the sports game from the equation and EA would have been out of business by now.

I've heard genuinely good things about FIFA 09, so I dont think this is true. I think though EA has kinda soiled its reputation with the sports line so people dont pay attention when they make a genuinely good sports title..

Also Populous DS but that sorta doesnt count since its not new..cant remember if its a remake or not.

I did say without the sports games EA wouldn't exist right now. The other games they make are really quite bad in comparison to the standards other developers in the industry set.

Meh, they'll be alright again once they release The Sims 3. It is, after all, nothing more than a cash-cow for them.
