Electronic Theatre details a new push from Codemasters to re-populate the UK with the name "Jason", pledging to get it back into the top 50 UK names by the end of 2009.

The name ‘Jason’ is from Greek origin, meaning “healer”. It has been considered an English name since the 17th Century, yet – whilst it consistently ranks as one of the US’s most popular names – its popularity has faded in the UK over recent years, dropping down out of the top 50.

Oh dear...This is pretty pathetic. The scary thing is there are probablt going to be plenty of people naming their kids Jason in order to enter the competition to win a years supply of Codmasters titles.

Well it's not exactly a bad name and anyone that was thinking about the name may get swayed to go for it by this. But realisitically not many people are going to go for the name Jason because of this. I mean if you think about it when you have a child 99% of people care more about that child than some video games.

Whatever happened to Hei$t and APB? Codemasters is sort of keeping everybody in the dark.

And if they don't release any titles during that year, then what? You're stuck with a brat named Jason, when your wife wanted to name him Charles or some shit?? LMAO
