Earlier this week, Nielsen Media Research had released console hardware usage statistics for 2008. Today, they have released a revised graph, showing the percentage of minutes each console commands through the calendar year. Most, if not all of the adjustments, came in the January 2009 area.

The revised statistics show that throughout most of 2009, the PS2 enjoyed a large lead in usage percentage, before losing most of it in January 2009. The Xbox 360 and whatever is in the 'Other' category enjoyed second and third, respectively, with the rest of the pack being the Wii, Xbox, PlayStation 3, and GameCube.

In January 2009, PlayStation 2 still holds its lead, but just barely, The Wii, Xbox 360, and the 'Other' category showing similar percentages through February 2009. After that, it is a large gap between these three and the next set of consoles, which includes the PlayStation 3, Xbox, and GameCube.
