Square Enix has taken its first steps in assimilating the recently acquired Eidos, by forming its new European branch tentatively titled Square Enix Europe. Eidos CEO Phil Rogers will be the head of this new branch, as Square Enix's sales and marketing offices will be combined with Eidos. Likewise, all of Eidos' North American branch will now report to Square Enix in that region, which will still be headed by John Yamamoto. Due to job duplication, some people will be let go.

Eidos' name will continue on through its development studios, which will now report to Square Enix Europe.

Square Enix is to form a new entity, called Square Enix Europe, which will handle all publishing for Square Enix and Eidos products moving forwards, with the aim of creating "one efficient and powerful structure for game publishing."

We are Square Enix. Lower your shields and surrender your offices. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your company will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
