With the release of the June 2009 NPD numbers this week, additional numbers have been made available for Sega and High Voltage Software's The Conduit for the Wii. Releasing on June 23rd, the first person shooter amassed a little less than 72,000 copies sold in the June tracking period, which ran from May 31st to July 4th. Given the time frame of a little more than a week, they are respectable, yet average numbers, amidst middling reviews and mediocre reception. The Conduit's 72k sales number puts it the 25th best-selling SKU of the month in the US.

Sega had previously mentioned that they were pleased with The Conduit's first week sales, and expects it to continue selling in the coming months. While MadWorld had met with low-to-moderate success since release, The House of the Dead: Overkill worked from a low starting point and built itself to a successful sales amount based on its legs.

The High Voltage developed FPS released in the States on June 23, while the NPD’s June reporting period ran from May 31–July 4.

“In terms of top SKUs, The Conduit placed at number 25,” said an NPD spokesperson, also noting that the game failed to break into the top five selling Wii titles in June.

I was round at a friends the other day and he was playing this, the game itself is practically a Halo / Metroid copy and by god is it dull and boring.

It also has a terrible storyline with very predictable plot twists.

Seriously, i wouldn't even rent it.

How is it a Metroid copy? The Metroid series are Adventure games, and aside from 'suited protagonist, guns and aliens' they have no similarity to either Halo or The Conduit.
And nearly every FPS ever copied something else with the exception being Wolfenstein. It's got some of the least variation among any genre.

Agree except the last part..I think FPS titles are fairly varied..it's just the mechanics themselves are pretty similar. But that's just what's on the surface.
Feel free to pick on ARPGS though.

I was referring to the game mechanics by the lack of variation coment. Aside from the occasional games that change it sigificantly FPS generally remain very similar, and when it is 'advanced' every FPS jumps in and copies.
Granted the same could be said of any genre, I'd just say FPS has had some of the least evolution in game mechanics since it first started when compared to most.

Yeah, liek dis game is stoopid. Halo invent3d teh FPS. Dis is ripoff!!! I liek trolling!11!10!

Get a life, fanboy, and stop hating on games you've never played.

On topic: those sales are pretty bad, though, compared to what I expected, which is unfortunate considering the effort HVS put into the game. Now just watch as the next Ubisoft shovelware Imagine game goes on to sell a million copies.

Wow, way to not read my comment.

I play the game for a good 3hours and developed my opinion from that. Haha any idiot who thinks Halo invented FPS is an idiot, Halo isn't even that good of a game i was just stating that the enemies in the Conduit were practically copies from enemies in Halo and that the whole "Scan things to get through" is practically a Metroid Prime copy.

Game deserves about a 4.5/10 and no more.

This game is nowhere near as good as Call Of Duty World At War, even the Wii version. =/

Crap graphics, stupid guns and is way too Haloish for the Wii.

      Inb4flamed4beena'hater'

Although The Conduit's engine is much better than the engine used in the Wii version of Call of Duty: World At War, it's merely let down due to an incredibly dull art direction. Needless to say you're pretty much throwing out the graphics argument when discussing Wii games anyway.

How is "crap graphics" technically incorrect? I don't think he said that WaW had better graphics than The Conduit.

I couldn't agree more. My brother just bought it yesterday and after about an hour of playing he wanted to go and return it. I guess I spoilt him by bringing my 360 and letting him play Halo 3 the past 2 months. It's alright if you only have a Wii and need a decent FPS, but I don't see anyone already with a PS3 or 360 picking it up. Nothing revolutionary about it.
