The game that was first announced during the E3 2009 Nintendo interview has become a massive hit over in the UK, surpassing the new Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince game, forcing it to No. 2.

Nintendo’s flagship release becomes console’s fourth fastest-selling game

Nintendo’s Wii Sports Resort has hit top spot in the ELSPA/GfK-ChartTrack All Formats Top 40 in its debut week.

The title, which comes bundled with the Wii MotionPlus accessory, clocks up the fourth-highest week one sales for a Wii game, behind Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii and Mario & Sonic at the Olympics.

EA’s Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince drops from No.1 to No.2 in its fourth week, with sales down just four per cent over last week.

EA remains at No.3 with an equally solid fourth week for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, with sales down just three per cent over last week.

Nintendo’s Wii Fit remains at No.4, with sales growth of three per cent.
