Namco Bandai has released their financial statement for the first quarter of the fiscal year that ends in March 2010. This corresponds to Nintendo's Q1 FY2009, Sony's Q1 FY2009 and Microsoft's Q4 FY2009. The Japanese entertainment company posted a net loss of approximately 2.85 billion yen, with an operating loss of 2.76 billion yen, and net sales of 75.73 billion yen.
The company's game segment saw net sales of 20.21 billion yen, and an operating loss of 41.36 billion yen, which is the primary reason for the company's overall operating loss. The company's net sales saw a 15.8% decrease.
Regionally, Namco Bandai saw the largest operating loss in Japan and the Americas. While the company believes after the second quarter it will have a 300 million yen operating income in Japan, Namco Bandai is forecast a 4 billion yen operating loss in the Americas.
