Activision Blizzard released their financial statement for the second quarter of the 2009 calendar year yesterday, which ended on June 30th. This corresponds to Nintendo's Q1 FY2009, Sony's Q1 FY2009 and Microsoft's Q4 FY2009. The American publisher posted a net income of $195 million, with an operating income of $218 million, and net revenues of $1.04 billion, $747 million of which were from product sales.
This is a near 600% increase in net income over Q2 CY2008. Keep in mind that Activision merged with Vivendi and became Activision Blizzard on July 9, 2008.
For the first two quarters of the calendar year, Activision Blizzard has posted a net revenue of $2.02 billion, with $1.44 billion coming from product sales. Operating income totaled $397 million for the first half, and net income totaled $384 million.
