The Australian Council on Children and the Media, an Australian lobbyist group that deals with family concerns, is demanding that the Australian Games Rating Board reclassify its MA 15+ rating for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
As MA 15+ is the highest rating in Australia, a change would effectively banish the game from store shelves.
An Australian lobbyist group is calling for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to be reclassified by the Australian Games Ratings Board due to the inclusion of a level in which you side with terrorists and make your way through an airport, killing civilians.
Considering the game has a MA 15+ rating, the highest rating in Australia, this change would effectively ban the game in Australia.

They know very well how it works, and how to manipulate it so it serves them and no one else.
I should say I don't really have faith in anything but anarchy. Communism is awesome on paper, it's just human nature to *bleep* it up like everything else.
Is this not pointing out the reason we NEED a R18 rating?
Personally I probably won't buy this game but LOTS of others will and if they are over 18 they should be allowed to make up their own mind if they want to play this level or not.I doubt I would play it but that doesn't mean I don't think anyone else should.
But that probably wouldn't happen so in that respect I hope it doesn't get banned.
...and they deliver. It's just they'd rather Rick Roll Europe, than solve problems.
I don't love it when gaming sites make a big deal out of things like this (some even calling it a 'terrorism simulator'), then complain when parents groups latch onto the news and start protesting the game. What the *bleep* were you expecting?
Again, not implying anything...
Of course, if it does get banned, feel free to borrow my tazer. Not implying anything also.
I'm really looking forward to COD MW2, but i'm not really keen on the airport level.
BUT it is skippable, so i'll skip it. SIMPLE!
This game should not be sold to children under 15 years old. Thats what the rating is for... If parents want to buy it for thier kids, then hopefully a majority of the kids are sensible enough to determine that this is something they CANNOT do in real life.
It should be up to the parents if they decide to trust thier child, and the game should not be reviewed, and this group needs to just fight a different cause.
