Maybe because of Call of Duty's latest installment, or because of massive success of Infinity Ward and Activision's FPS series, EA Games decided to revitalize the game that started WWII shooter craze.

After relaying the company's success in revitalizing the long-abused Need for Speed franchise with this year's well-received Need for Speed: Shift during this afternoon's Q2 conference call, EA Games label president Frank Gibeau revealed, "In the months ahead, you'll hear more about our plans to revitalize core IP, including the Medal of Honor franchise."

The long-established war series – whose Allied Assault team led to the creation of Infinity Ward and the now dominant Call of Duty series at competitor Activision – has been absent since 2007's triple showing of the poorly received Medal of Honor: Airborne, the poorly received Medal of Honor: Hereos 2, and the even more poorly received Medal of Honor: Vanguard. Yeah, a reboot seems in order.

...Let mr guess: Medal of Honor: Modern Warfare...

MoH: Vietnam would be good though.

EA might be too late to the party. I mean Call of Duty has already done Modern Warfare so well and Battlefield is very good competition, if Treyarch do Vietnam next year as rumoured then any Medal of Honour reboot might be in vein.

Please EA don't do it. With games like Dead Space, Mirrors Edge and Skate you were actually starting to turn into a really good company.

Please don't bring that pile of crap back. People who like wargames have got CoD just leave them with that.

I'd like to see a new decent medal of honour, like the good ol' ones, only revamped!
