Jesus wept, anybody got a link to why they consider aliens slaughtering each other to be offensive?

After reading that I feel really bad for Australian gamers. I personally cannot wait to gouge out the eyes of a marine, slice his upper torso to expose his rib cage, stab him through the chest and finish off by ripping his head off to expose his dangling spine. This is serious bad news for gore freaks in Australia for sure.

    Okay....

So, Mortal Kombat, which is way more violent then this didn't get banned. the Australia OFLC are idiots.

They're inconsistent, which is nothing new. The bans they hand out to games they deem as too mature is enough to piss people off but they can't ever seem to make these decisions equal. That's part of what makes their entire stance a complete joke.

Bullshit. Left 4 Dead 2 was so badly reanimated for the Australia version it's sad...

Damn, I really feel sorry for the Aussies, this must suck alot. Only thing you can hope for is a edited version, which after L4D2's one, can only be a bad thing =/

After the L4D2 edit. I don't think Sega will even bother as it's obvious the only way to get past this ban is to remove blood and all the dismemberment, including spine ripping, eye gouging, jaw bone ripping and more. Where as L4D2 in some aspects can still be enjoyed in an edited form if you ignore everything dissapearing, Aliens vs. Predator's combat system for the Predator and Alien against the Marines is based on brutal violence, more brutal than in L4D2.

I love the forms they have. They talk about all this gore in this upper and formal tone. Its awesome. xD

Well you know, since this game is by the same Rebellion who developed Rogue Warrior, I'd say the Aussie government has done its people a great service this time.

Sega seem to have some quality control on games outside of Sonic. They wouldn't fund a game like this and not let it be good. Having seen extensive gameplay Aliens Vs. Predator is living up to it's lineage. Rebellion made the original Alien Vs. Predator which was an FPS masterpiece.

This is also just supposed to be a remake of the original game isn't it?

It's in the same universe of sorts. It's not a straight remake just like Aliens vs Predator on the PC was not a straight remake of Aliens vs Predator on the Atari Jaguar which Rebellion also developed. It's in the same universe, just with different plot points, and perhaps some of the same locations that now look different because graphics have changed lots since 1999. Aliens vs Predator (2010) is a different game that plays just like the original while being entirely different.

Rebellion are refusing to release an edited version so Aus will niot be seeing the game at all.

I highly commend Rebellion for their decision and wish more companies would do the same thing.

It might be the thing that every company needs to do. I mean the government heavily tax video games, if there is nothing good to buy because it's all been banned they will soon forget about the children and bring out an R18+ rating to get money again.

So apparently killing Zombie and Aliens is too realistic and yet being an Assassin and shooting innocents in MW 2 isn't? Complete and utter bullshit if you ask me.

You do know that this game is now going to be released unedited right?

Though I do agree on what you are saying.

I'm glad you understand logic Gamesta100. No offense to you or anything but some people don't agree with me which to be honest is just stupid.
