The first 9 months fiscal report from Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) has been posted in English, on Kotaku. Nippon Ichi Software for those not in the know, is a company known for releasing strategy RPGs, such as the cult hit Disgaea series, as well as other cult titles.

    Considering all the games they've released recently, I'm surprised their profit margin is so low.

    Hopefully sales will eventually make up for it, before they go bankrupt >_>

    They make very average-quality niche titles that do not sell big outside of the one franchise the cult knows: Disgaea. The Atelier series even have lost their luster and sales potential too.

      Don't be dissin' NIS. They need to shape up in the graphics department (and their rip-off DLC policies), but they offer something you don't tend to get these days. Old school tactics style gameplay.

        i hope they never change their graphics. they have some of the best sprite artists around. imagine a prinny in 3d D:

          I don't mean for them to change the style, but is it so hard for them to increase the resolution? On D3, sprites were especially blurry (with a choice of 'uber pixelated mode' when you turn off smoothing).

    Yeah, it's looking even worse for the company now....I hope they recover...
