NPD Data report is in and Microsoft's Xbox 360 is the best-selling home console of the month. The best-selling game is Bioshock 2 for the box 360. The biggest surprise is Sony's Heavy Rain managing to move nearly 220,000 copies.

The NPD sales report for February is in and the Xbox 360 is the best selling hardware for the month. Finishing in second is the Nintendo Wii, with the PlayStation 3 in a distant third. Overall, the month was strong for all three home consoles and if things stay strong until summer, each system could be looking at a banner year.

Bioshock 2 for the Xbox 360 is the top-selling software title for the month, but Heavy Rain managed to make it into the Top 10 with sales breaking the 200,000 unit mark.
