DLC sells like this pretty much prove the runaway popularity of Modern Warfare 2. This game has been full of issues and controversy but Modern Warfare 2 has blown past all of that with monster sales of the Stimulus Package DLC.

It appears that Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling was correct about the Stimulus Package DLC being priced right. Microsoft has announced that first set of DLC maps for Modern Warfare 2 achieved over 1 million sold in the first 24 hours and 2.5 million sold within the first week.

In related news, analysts have definitively proven that there are at least 2.5 million people in the world who are irresponsible with their money.

The Stimlus Package is not worth it. Five maps with no new extra features do not equal the price of an Xbox Live Arcade game.

    Oh for *bleep*'s sake.

Everyone crowds around the Stimulus Package like it's the second coming, whilst actual high quality arcade games for the same price that offer a better experience (Trials HD, Shadow Complex, Geometry Wars, Perfect Dark, Toy Soldiers, the list goes on) are ignored due to them not being added onto 'the best game evar'.

I'm not saying that you're a bad person if you bought Stimulus. What I am saying is that you've given money to the most greedy, closed-minded bastards working in gaming. Basically, 2.5 million people have said to them 'Oh, here's my money, you can carry on putting as little work as possible into your products.'

My main problem is that this means that Activision can put whatever stupid price they want on their shiny goods, and everyone'll buy them. Don't be surprised to see Modern Warfare 3 at a higher price next year and the next map pack to be 1600.
