Square Enix states that one of their key factors to growing substantially in the next fiscal year is to “create new AAA brands” in order to maintain IP strength.

    MMOs wont do it SE. I am all for a new AAA brand to the level of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, but try to get away from the RPG genre and try getting a new AAA brand in another genre to expand your market... A shooter would be perfect right now to be honest.

      Oh yeah, new AAA brands, kinda like Last Remnant. How did that turn out again?

      I'm not so sure about Square moving outside of the RPG genre Shadowguard. I mean look at Dirge of Cereberus, frankly I think that is sign enough that Square's studios have very little clue on how to do thigs outside of RPG's, Kingdom Hearts seems to be the only real exception.

    I'm beginning to think Square Enix gauge their success on how many games they can announce per year. They won't develop the games for 15 years but just saying they have thought about it is enough for them these days.
