It'll be a contender for sure but I think GOW3 is going to win it.

The only thing GOWIII has on it is the graphics. Length, replayability, features, not to mention its a R* game, and they tend to get lots of converage.

But you forget that the people who commonly decide on these awards are usually always raging fanboys.

Isn't too damn early to be assuming ANY game is game of the year? We have a whole rest of the year to wade through.

And what other upcoming games do you see as potential GOTY? L.A. Noire would probably be the only one I can think of. 2010 looks like a pretty bland year.

You never know, a sleeper hit might butt secks everyone into gaming euphoria. All I am saying is wait for the year to end before making any assumptions.

I'm surprised how popular this game is proving, I never saw the previous games as anything special.

Wasn't there one on the PSP/DS? I'm sure there was one more than one.

Either way I feel the same way, I've never seen Red Dead as an overly popular franchise/game.
