Don't Be A Genre Snob
21 hours 56 mins ago
There have been more than enough rumours and articles about Sony's Playstation 3 and the various sizes of the Hard Drive, from the 60GB console being lowered in price, to being phased out, then theres recent news about the 80GB PS3 also getting a price cut, shortly after it was announced.
However David Reeve has gone one up on all the above, hinting that a 120GB version may be in the works. Also saying that European consumers would prefer value-added rather than a price cut...
...I wouldn't be too sure about that.
The difference between 60 and 80GB is very small, we just feel that going up 20GB is not worth it, Reeves told Norwegian website Dagbladet.
However, If you go to double it, its worth it, he added. So maybe youll see something a little bit later.
We dont think its necessary to reduce the price, he continued. We think that consumers want added value in Europe. We think its the right decision.

And today i have seen a pointless 40Gb and an decent 80GB thats coming out rather soon in most countries
Now a 120GB?? Its pointless having about 6 types of console, i think they should have the 60Gb which we have, the 20Gb which some countries already have and a 100GB
i just think its pointless having 20, 40, 60, 80 and 120GB, tomorrow a 100GB is bound to appear, i think its pointless paying another £100 for another 20GB when you could pay £150 for another 40-60GB
Haha seriously though, I really doubt that such space will ever be required for a long time, if ever. What the hell is the price tag going to be on this?
I predict the next rumour will be of a 100GB PS3 to fit the trend.
i don't know if its getting out of hand, but maybe needs rethinking.
60GB PS3 for 399$ or less = Instant win.

And I can personally say that I'd much rather a price-cut, as opposed to what Sony consider as "value".
To me, "Value" = price cut.
Seriosuly if they kept the 60GB version and keep the price cut people would flock to it but Sony just keep making stupid decisions
Brings you to wonder who they hire as financial analysts in their company...
