Don't see this working... Don't women like to be seen as equals? Most more than likely only want more games to add the option of playing as a female character and most games are doing that. They don't need games exclusively tailored to them as most likely Silicon Sisters is going to get the wrong idea and make fashion games, dress up your own baby games.. Most women just want to have a protagonist they can relate to.

It says more about you than it does about them that when you think of games catered to females you automatically jump to fashion and baby games.

I only have to look at the industry...

UbiSoft's attempts to cater to the female market on the DS which includes the Imagine franchise of games.

        Imagine: Journalist
        Imagine: My Baby Girl
        Imagine: Fashion Paradise
        Imagine: Beauty Stylist

Come on.. I wouldn't think what I did if the games weren't already being made. Instead of developing an actual game whether it is an action game, platformer with a powerful and interesting female lead that girls and women can relate to they instead palm them off with baby makers and fashion..

Right, and that would be a valid point, if this new studio had anything to do with those games. Do you know who those games were made by? Condescending, idiot men trying to target women gamers.

          quote
“The core game world has not moved aggressively into the female space…the casual and social gaming world has…We’re pretty well represented in the HR and marketing realms, but you don’t see very many women in engineering, and you don’t see very many women in design.”
They're aiming to make core games catered for women. This means not having a ridiculous amount of big titted Soul Calibur women running around in skimpy clothing whilst big, testosterone obsessed men grunt and shout and shoot their big guns whilst nothing actually happens. It also means core games, not casual non-games like the Imagine series or anything like it.
          quote
Their goal is to make games that are embraced by both genders; not to make a bunch of pink, glitzy, sparkley games.
But no, you just see 'Women' and assume fashion and babies. Sexist.

Am I the only person who read the name 'Silicon Sisters' and thought 'this must be a parody'?

It's silicon, not silicone, you silly goose.

It's an element on the periodic table, not the stuff you fill breast implants with.

Unless you mean you thought that the name might be a parody of "Silicon Knights." If that's what you meant, then I sincerely apologize for calling you a silly goose. Otherwise, I regret nothing...

Yes, I'm aware of the difference. It just looks too much like a play on words to believe.
