Best Videogame Writing Nominees Announced

The WGA has released the nominees of their new category, Best Videogame Writing today. The list seems alright, but I agree with the oversight of Mass Effect on the source page, there was just way too much well-thought out content in there to overlook.

Nominees:
  • 'Crash of the Titans,' written by Christopher Mitchell for Sierra Entertainment
  • 'Dead Head Fred,' written by Dave Ellis and Adam Cogan for D3 Publisher
  • 'The Simpsons Game,' with lead writer Matt Selman, written by Tim Long and Matt Warburton, dialogue by Jeff Poliquin for Electronic Arts
  • 'The Witcher,' with lead story designer Artur Ganszyniec, dialogue by Sebastian Stepien, additional dialogue by Marcin Blacha and writers Sande Chen and Anne Toole for Atari
  • 'World in Conflict,' story design by Christofer Emgard, story consultant Larry Bond and script consultant Ed Zuckerman for Sierra Entertainment.

    WTF HOW COULD THEY HAVE MISSED OUT MASS EFFECT!!!

    If ME was nominated it would have won for SURE. I mean Crash bandicute ffs....

    Relax...it's a decent list, imo, showing games that aren't too huge yet were well-written. My money's on World in Conflict.

    Hmm, strange, unless Oblivion/Shivering Isles hasn't been nominated before, they NEED to be mentioned here.

    LOL at the nominee's oh come off it, Crash of titans? The simpsons game? Who the hell chooses these nominee's.

    How about Mass Effect? Assassins Creed? how lame...

    The Simpsons game actually has some of the cleverest writing I've ever seen in a game. Seriously the last boss battle consists of beating God at Dance Dance Revoloution, you can't beat that

    oh this one is easy - its gotta be the witcher. amazing RPG that has been criminally overlooked. its got a great story and, although the script has been cut down a bit from the more mature polish version, the script is pretty good.
