A Middlesex University study concluded computer games make players more relaxed after some time with their game. The study included 292 male and female online games, aged 12-83. The subjects were questioned, played WoW for a couple of hours, then were retested. So much for Warcraft breeding terrorists.

The paper written based on the study was presented to the British Psychological Society's annual conference in Dublin.

"There were actually higher levels of relaxation before and after playing the game as opposed to experiencing anger, but this very much depended on personality type," said team leader Jane Barnett from Middlesex University.

"This will help us develop an emotion and gaming questionnaire to distinguish the type of gamer who is likely to transfer their online aggression into everyday life."

When are psychological studies and scientific studies just going to stop and accept the fact that not everyone reacts to one thing the same way.

I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that are completely relaxed while playing WoW, but if Leroy Jenkins is any indication of anything there are also people out there that get extremely frustrated with it too.

I don't see how it has anything to do with violence though. Anything can lead to violence. I stubbed my toe! Arggh! Kill!

Someone has to be on edge to begin with in order to resort to violence. It's as simple as that. I'm not even a scientist and I realize this.

Yeah but it just doesn't make a difference you know. Why don't we just stop grouping everyone together?

Counter-Strike made me furious at times. Absolutely livid. The thing is, there wasn't a murderous rage in me at any given time.

The same reason stereotypes exist. Sure, stereotypes are usually bad an not necessarily true. Although it's not as if they just sprung out of nowhere either.

Just remember this...there are always exceptions.

Yeah, but you asked. Why do we group people together?

And it isn't the first duplicate Avalith. I have seen this same story about 5 times now. People are just getting it from different sources.

I think maybe the news approval system needs to be looked at as this is just annoying. 5 people have been 'rewarded' for posting stuff that everyone had already read before.
