Monster Hunter: Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto Interview

Dark Arcanine | October 01, 2008 | Interview | PC Playstation 2 Company
Ryozo Tsujimoto is the producer of the popular series Monster Hunter. As the picture attests, he's both a happy and confident man.

The interview covers a lot of points. These include sales and statistics, the source of popularity (word of mouth, not just PSP), the nature in which it appeals to players, how the game was "in the right place at the right time", promotions and branching out into other sectors of the market, how the Monster Hunter team operates, working with Capcom and finishes with where the producer sees the series heading.
I really want to expand the market base for Monster Hunter. There are still lots of people out there who would be interested in playing Monster Hunter, so I want to convey as much about the game as possible.
For myself, I'd like to be able to establish a communication network. As I've said before, I want to be aware of what's going on in the game industry, and because there are always great changes afoot, I want to always be attuned to them.

He looks kind of evil in the profile photo now I contemplate it.

Yes, bet he's just being super modest to cover up the reasoning behind his giant grin. He knows it's a gold mine they want to hack like a Runescape noob.
