The man behind the Metal Gear franchise was recently interviewed by the Play Magazine's sister publication (and magazine) Retro Gamer. In the interview, Hideo Kojima talks about the creation of the Metal Gear franchise, and much much more. Be sure to read the full interview at the source below.

When did you first show interest in videogames? What games did you enjoy playing, what companies did you respect?

Well, I first had interest in filming….but could not be involved…I was facing frustrations at that time. But then there came the Famicom (NES), and I fell in love with Super Mario Brothers.

    Bleh, I think I'll pass on reading this interview. Play is one of the worst magazines I've ever laid eyes upon and anything related to it is almost certainly rubbish.

      Ouch, that is harsh... if anything, going to check it out to see if Kojima gives any more details about the 3 storyline ideas he would use if he was to direct MGS5, and/or hints about the ideas the team is coming up with which may be used so Kojima would only produce the game...
