Electronic Theatre present a Q&A session with D3Publisher and Vicious Cycle discussing their forthcoming Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard (released in the US yesterday, Europe tomorrow).
Electronic Theatre: The game uses a cover system seen in many third-person action games today, and while weve already seen Eat Lead: The Return Of Matt Hazards point-to-cover addition to the standard template, what other control schemes have you developed to aid the player?
D3 Our whole goal with our cover system was to try and work around some of the difficulties people have when moving in cover. A lot of games counter this by only having the enemies placed in front of you. Our enemies come at you from all angles while flanking and out manoeuvring you, so we wanted to make sure that getting into, out of, around, over, and to cover was fast and easy. Point and Cover was just one part of this. I think that when you use the cover system, you will realize that there is a much different feel to our cover system when compared to other cover based titles.
