At the source is an interview with Square producer Yoshinori Yamagishi. The interview talks about many aspects, such as why the game was only released on 360 and also why Star Ocean IV may stand out amongst other RPGS.
With its UK release recently pinned for June, Square Enix's other gorgeous RPG, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, is finally almost upon us.
CVG took a drive down to historic Greenwich in London yesterday to go hands-on with an English-language version of the game and chat with the game's producer, Yoshinori Yamagishi.

Q: Why was the 360 chosen as the platform for such a traditional Japanese-style RPG?
Yamagishi: The reason why we chose this platform is because 360 offered the specs for this type of game first amongst the current-gen consoles. Xbox was out first, so we went with that.

Well that's an answer that doesn't make sense to me. They've had enough time to develop a ps3-version ( and sell a descent amount ).
I guess they can't tell the real reason due to contractual restrictions with the Redmondians...
