Killzone 2 launched on the PlayStation 3 earlier this year in February and has gone up against the juggernauts of the FPS genre. TheGamerAccess.com was hungry for more information on Killzone 2 and the future plans of Guerilla Games so they were nice enough to answer many of our questions.

Halo started it all for console first person shooters as we know them, and until Call of Duty 4 came along, it was pretty much unopposed. One failed attempt to take the crown was the original Killzone, which received a poor response from gamers everywhere. Here we go again with the "Halo Killer" shit. And secondly, "gamers everywhere"? Which "everywhere"? This is one of the most annoying and most common mentality when it comes to Killzone. Ever since Halo was out, every other FPS that came out on console was dubbed a *bleep*ing "possible Halo killer". Even Warhammer 40K: Fire Warrior was hyped to be a godamned Halo killer. Thanks to the enormous "Halo killer" hype, KZ was doomed before it even began.

Another thing is that people tend to point KZ as some sort of huge failure. I'm betting that most of the people saying this never actually played the game. Those that weren't satisfied, I'm sure have their reasons, but not even THEY would call it a colossal failure. It is arguably one of the FINEST PS2 shooters out there.

    Rant over.

      Agree 100%.

Talk about inexperienced, hit-seeking noobs. Failed to consider Golden Eye as well. Epic fail.

This man speaks truth. I guess ever since WoW dominated the MMORPG market people have been looking for other things to throw up as the game to 'kill', for FPS's it being Halo (then for RPG's you've got the so called Final Fantasy killers and the ever present number of hack 'n' slashes dubbed as God of War killers >.<).

People need to see games for what they are and not for what people want them to be, then they would be much more enjoyable for them. That said people also need to stop blowing shit up for fairies and thinking Sony, Msoft or Ninty actually give a shit about them so go figure
