Capcom: Sony's Motion Controller Opens Door For Wii-To-PS3 Ports

In a recent interview with 1Up.com, Capcom's Jun Takeuchi discussed the best and worst trends in the Japanese game industry, why he liked Platinum Games (the creators of Bayonetta), and why he believes Japanese developers will embrace Sony and Microsoft's upcoming motion control devices.
He also mentioned that many Japanese devs are thrilled with Sony's upcoming motion controller "because they can just port over their Wii titles to the PS3."

1UP: What about Sony's motion control device?

JT: Well just being from Capcom, I can tell you that we have a lot of good ideas on how to make use of that technology and we're looking forward to putting them into practice. However, speaking to other developers in Japan, I've heard a few of them say they were delighted by the Sony motion controller because they can just port over their Wii titles to the PS3.

    Oh no! Capcom should have simply said "This allows our shovelware to be played on PS3" This is seriously not cool.

      Amidst the shovelware, there's also games like Monster Hunter 3 and the RE rail shooters. So yeah.

        Screw on the rail shooters.

        A monster hunter port would be awesome.

        But they better put normal controls in too, don't want another lair.

          Exactly, I don't want a port of REUC on PS3. I WANT IT IN HD!!

          Either way, Mo should be extremely happy now that he gets to play RE.

    I suppose that's good Those would-be Wii exclusives that PS3 owners are wanting can have some now

    Dont know about you, but I would love a RE4, with Motion controls.

      Dead Space: Extraction would work though I would like them to add the guns to the screen. I have never understood why many on-rails shooters find the need to get rid of a gun on screen.
