Akitoshi Kawazu, Square Enix developer, has said that he wants the Final Fantasy franchise to last forever.
In a recent interview, Kawazu was asked if gamers will ever see a final Final Fantasy. He said:
"I would of course be delighted if Final Fantasy will last forever. When I die, it would be an honor if standing on my tombstone, "He was involved in the first Final Fantasy!" That would be fantastic - literally!"

I bet the world will end before FF does.
If you're going to milk the franchise for that long, for God's sake change the name of the franchise; how can the Fantasy be Final if it goes on forever??
I don't understand why you would want it to stop? Especially when they continually produce quality games. Themes may be reused, styles and designs may be familiar, but you really can't fault Square for creating some of the most complete packages one can buy when it comes to this kind of gaming.
Plus, I never was a fan of turn-based RPGs, so I have little enthusiasm for this to begin with. Begin the hating now.
Sorry, SquEnix.
At least rename each game to try and hide the face you have shameless whored one of the greatest series ever
