First it was hinted that Mass Effect 2 would be coming to PS3, then it was denied, then it was hinted at again.

And now Bioware have hinted at it once more. In a recent interview with Polish site Polygamia.pl (the English translation is in the right-hand column of the article) Bioware's Adrien Cho was asked whether Mass Effect 2 would ever be released on PS3. Cho did not confirm it outright, but his evasive statements indicate that it is a possibility.

Cho also talked about Mass Effect 2 DLC, inspirations for the game, and why ME2 is better than Dragon Age.

There is one more thing I have to ask you. Jay Watamaniuk said during PGA that Mass Effect 2 is coming out for the 360, PC and probably PS3. So, how probable is it?

Well, we've spent the past 2 years working just on the 360 and PC versions.

But if BioWare and EA want to release Mass Effect 2 on PS3, there wouldn't be any legal problems, in terms of IP rights? Microsoft cannot do anything about it?

We definitely want to give as many people as possible a chance to play the game. The Unreal engine is cross-platform. I think maybe the only platform it doesn't work on is the Wii.

    Interesting...

Doesn't mean anything outside of the fact that the Unreal engine is compatable cross-platform. That's it.

Wow, can't believe I missed that. Just noticed it says it in the article preview too <_<. I assumed the website was automatically redirecting me to a Polish version for some odd reason lol.

Everyone should definitely get the chance to marvel at ME2, hopefully PS3 people will get it sometime in the very near future. It's going to be awesome.

I might try it if it does eventually come to PS3, but I won't exactly hold my breath.

I hope it does come to the PS3 so I can get it. I loved the first one and I have no doubt the second will be as good, if not, better. Even if it does come out later, at least I won't have to get a second console just to play it.

It may or may not be better then DA but you need both if you want that dragon armor in ME2

I like how when he was asked about the legal problems and Microsoft being able to do things if it was released outside of PC & Xbox360 he completely dodged the question and said something practically unrelated.

Basically, It's not going anywere except 360 & PC anytime soon.

Bioshock. Ninja Gaiden. Fallout 3 DLC.

Loopholes, dear Watson, loopholes. If there weren't any he wouldn't have avoided the question.

Is the story in ME2 tied to the original ME? I don't know if I really want to play a story intensive game if it is a sequel to something I'm not even able to play.

Yup. Whole of Mass Effect 2 is based on everything that happened in ME1 also your save games carry on into the second game, everything you do in ME1 can influence what happens in ME2 and can change how some events happen in the game.

The story in ME2 is heavily influenced by the events in ME, yeah. To the point where decisions you make on your saves in the first game actually make a difference to the second game, looks awesome. If you're that worried however Mass Effect in five minutes video, or just play the game, a used copy will be cheap and worth the purchase.
