Don't expect to see a Wii successor any time soon. In a recent interview with businessweek.com, Nintendo of America's President Reggie Fils-Aime said that: said: "We are confident the Wii home entertainment console has a very long life in front of it."

Sony and Microsoft plan to challenge rival Nintendo’s dominance of the current console generation with add-ons they hope will deliver a more sophisticated take on motion control than the motion-sensing technology in the three-year-old Wii. But Fils-Aime, in an interview with Bloomberg BusinessWeek, said: “We are confident the Wii home entertainment console has a very long life in front of it.”

Sure, it may have a long life ahead of itself, that still doesn't mean I'm going to buy one though. Sorry, the thumb condom revealed at E3 didn't impress me.

How come something that goes over something else is always considered a condom on the internet?

Anyway, I think Nintendo will release a new console in the next few years, but will still continue to support the Wii, similar to what they did with the GBA a few months after the DS was released, only a lot longer. They call it their "three pillar" approach, apparantly.

Because it is. Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to put on my feet condoms, head condom, hand condoms, get into my full body condom and drive to the store to buy penis condoms. Fun times will be had.

I'm sorry, what good games are coming out for the Wii this year compared to the 360, PS3, and PC?

That's nice to hear because I really don't want to fork out for another console that I think is going to be great and then I can't find any games for. 3:
I do genuinely like the Wii but it's becoming a joke.

Nintendo are good at that. They even manage to turn a good handheld into a joke with stupid re-releases. The DS Lite was fine, it was a good upgrade over the old fat one. The DS didn't need a camera and after slimming it down they are releasing the DSi XL which makes it the same size as the original DS was 6 years ago.. Nintendo really don't have sense anymore.

Nintendo is just expanding their audience to the older crowd. The Nintendo Pulse thing is the first sign that I saw that Nintendo was becoming the biggest joke in this generation. There is no need to have a pulse reader, unless you're some sort of health freak. Even then, you surely wouldn't shell out $200 and maybe a couple more bucks for the peripheral to know your pulse.

Still though, hadn't Nintendo announced a DS successor recently, with features souped up enough to be an official successor instead of a continuation? If that's true, it should still be at LEAST two more years for the next home console to even be announced.

It didn't bother me when that xbox executive said the 360 had a long life...

...but as soon as Reggie starts blowing his mouth off I get pissed lol.
