Abigail Elise of examiner.com has typed up an article concerning the new Miss America, Caressa Cameron. It seems the 22 year-old beauty isn't very fond of video games, believing that they create poor standards. But don't worry, she suggests the alternative of playing with sticks like she used to as a kid, so you don't have to feel bad about it if your parents suddenly strip you of your games.

Cameron, a 22 year-old native of Virginia, felt that video games, among other entertainment outlets, were contributing to the laziness of young children. "Take away the TV, take away the video games, set some standards for our children!" she stated during her interview. She also added that she believed parents should encourage their kids to play outdoors, wishing that they were "playing imaginary games with sticks in the street like I did when I was little."

"You can be and become anything that you want to be, even Miss America."

Yeah, because a contest based a lot on looks completely helps many children and teens (in this case, namely teen girls) set realistic goals and help in their development right? Because idolizing 'beautiful' people for their genes and not their brains is a great thing... right!?

Give me a break. I'd rather have a bunch of lazy kids who play games and may actually learn something from their stories and experiences rather than kids who obsess with only their looks.

She's encouraging children to pick up dangerous objects. Why doesn't she just give them a gun and call it a day?

I have a friend who didn't watch any TV or play any video games as a kid. She doesn't understand any pop references from the 80s or 90s. A group of friends might have discussions about the TV shows we loved, or our favorite movies when we were little, and she has no idea what we're talking about. She only watched her first episode of the Simpsons a few years back. It kinda... sad.

Nothing wrong with going outdoors, but there's nothing wrong with TV or gaming either. Hell, TV was a big part of many peoples' childhoods in the last 2-3 decades. I don't think I'd want my kids to end up like said friend.

But whatever she says is legitimized by the fact she's good looking right?
