With Alan Wake's release just around the corner, IGN decided to interview Remedy about making their biggest game yet.

It's been a long wait for Remedy Entertainment's Alan Wake, an action-thriller about a writer in search of his missing wife. The studio that built Max Payne and Max Payne 2 first talked about it back in 2005. In the years that followed the title seemed to fade into darkness. There was speculation about whether it would ever be finished and shipped at all, which all screeched to a halt at E3 2009 when the game was demoed at Microsoft's press briefing.
With a rapidly approaching release date -- just a few weeks for the American, European and Australian markets -- and a lot of interest in what Remedy's been working on for so long, we had a chance to talk with Writer Mikko Rautalahti and Director of Development Markus Mäki, as well as get a look at a new trailer. The following exchange was conducted via email.
