Dark Arcanine | 6 hours 37 mins ago | Mods | Game Boy Color
Mark of markbowers.org has come up with one of the most interesting idea to be associated with a Gameboy Colour for quite a while. He decided to put a Gameboy Colour inside a calculator!

As you can see from the pictures (more in source) it took a lot of hard work, but the final product was well worth it. The Gameboy Colour within a calculator works great, though the screen brightness leaves something to be desired and Mark stated "So there you have it. Yeah, looking back there's half a doz...

Deathsythe | 15 days 23 hours ago | Mods | Wii Misc Gaming Tech/Hardware
The guys from AcidMods have outdone themselves. Here you will find a step by step guide to making a rapidfire kit for your wiimote.

While this could easily be emulated and achieved via software- they have made a hardware mod that requires minor soldering, and a little technical know-how.

PSP: SNES Controller Mod

An amazing PSP mod by a guy who calls himself F00.

The backstory of this mod is pretty touching too. Turns out a man wanted a way to let his spouse continue to game, even though she has limited use of one of her hands (for an unknown reason), and has trouble with the PSP controls, but can navigate an SNES controller fine.

Make sure to check out the video in the link (or below), and the slideshow after the jump. For any of you who are so inclined, he does outline some of the basics as ...

Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne's "Guitar Hero Guitar" images attached to an article

Deathsythe | 22 days 23 hours ago | Mods | PC Playstation 2 Misc Gaming Tech/Hardware
"Naturally, the band's noise-assault interpretation of the chimes was out there to begin with, but what really blew our mind was frontman Wayne Coyne's tricked-out double-neck guitar, which, as a jab at rhythm-game obsessed kids, featured a twist on the Guitar Hero plastic axe. See for yourself below and watch for the NBC promos to start airing around Thanksgiving."

Speeding up your PS3 images attached to an article

The folks over at ExtremeTech go in depth on swapping out your old PS3 hard drive for a faster, albeit more expensive, X-25 Solid State SATA drive.

You would think the $600 SSD would outpreform the original right?
Wrong.

When it comes to installing games, the difference in performance was almost negligable (see first chart), though when downloading and installing games from the PSN - there was a 40% decrease in time.

Game start times did decrease with the SSD, but not enough to tru...

Ben Heck brings us a one handed controller for the PS2, PS3, and PC - with a 360 version on the way. It might be a little unwieldly at first- but it is safe to assume that this controller is pretty bad ass.

Even better- Ben is going to offer up guides on how to hack and mod his controller mod in the upcoming few weeks - stay tuned for that!

Say bye to the Wii Backup Loader

Tyranitar24 | September 21, 2008 | Mods | Wii Gaming Tech/Hardware
The Wii Backup Loader, a mod that allows you to play your backed up copies of Wii games, has been deserted by Waninknkno - the maker of the program - because it was leaked to the public a couple days ago.

Hopefully, someone else can take on the task and complete it.

Nintendo-Toaster mod

One talented modder has managed to place an NES into a toaster. Yes- a toaster.

Complete with red LEDs to simulate the heating of a bread like it is supposed to be used for, and a functioning pull down lever that works as a power-switch / eject button all in one.

Elaborate, crazy, and genius - all at once.

I will have to get accustomed to the fact that I eventually will start blowing on my toast to get it to taste right after repeated use of this.

Be sure to visit the link to se...
