The Wii Backup Loader, a mod that allows you to play your backed up copies of Wii games, has been deserted by Waninknkno - the maker of the program - because it was leaked to the public a couple days ago.

Hopefully, someone else can take on the task and complete it.

2008/09/19 - Congratulations! I don't care about who leaked Backup-Loader but now it's OFFICIALLY an abandoned project. Enjoy it.

Ironic since his application would also let you play leaked games. Hopefully he'll change his mind soon.

Maybe he realises how the game developers and publisher feels when their content (in this case games) are leaked onto the internet.

Did they leak the source code or the program? It's actually quite hard to backwards engineer a program, but it's obviously not impossible, especially if someone knows that allowing copied games to be played is possible... which it obviously is...

Looks like Waninkoko has changed his mind and is probably going to go back to working on the Wii ISO Loader.
